Food experts are always looking for the next big thing that will be the buzz of the industry and the top of culinary trends. That means food establishments are continuously pushing themselves onwards and upwards. And boy did Pizza Hut Philippines take it to the next level with their new hand stretched pizza, which is thinner and lighter than usual and easier to bite.

We are certainly no stranger to Pizza HutΒ as it’s one of the most trusted food chains here in the Philippines and all over the world with its wide range of delicious pizza menu. This giant pizza store has been pushing the boundaries of pizza with its stuffed crust pies, literally and figuratively. Now, doing things a little differently, it has come up with the hand stretched pizza with a burst of flavors and an abundance of toppings plus a choice of the crust glaze. Does Pizza Hut’s hand stretched pizza justify the hype? Let’s find out. πŸ™‚

Review of NEW Hand Stretched Pizza by Pizza Hut Philippines #StretchPA

Service: β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

Pizza Hut’s “Hate Late” campaign guarantees on-time delivery service or the pizza ordered will be given for free. This advocacy toward punctuality was launched way back in 2006, and to date, Filipinos take note of the time as stated by the call handler and synchronize it to their watches. As avid customers of Pizza Hut, we are in full support of this campaign. We expected the hand stretched pizzas to be delivered at 7PM, and the delivery guy arrived at 6:52PM. Yay! πŸ˜€

Thanks to Pizza Hut Philippines, we were among the first families to taste the new hand stretched pizzas. Flavors and glaze finishers can be mixed and matched, as follows:

  • Flavors: Supreme, Hawaiian Supreme, 3-Cheese, Cheesy Pepperoni, and Cheeseburger
  • Glaze Finishers: Toasted Cheddar, Honey Crunch, Toasted Parmesan, Garlic Parmesan Butter

We got the Supreme Pizza with Toasted Cheddar Glaze and the Hawaiian Supreme Pizza with Honey Crunch Glaze.

Upon opening the box, we were immediately captivated by the smell of pizza thatΒ uplifts the spirit even in the dullest of days. It’s that familiar Pizza Hut smell that brings back memories of childhood (since we have grown up with Pizza Hut), the kind that I want to keep in a smell box to be opened and inhaled when I need something to make me smile. πŸ™‚ Oh, I just love that inherent fragrance and I’m sure many people know what I’m talking about.

Pumped full of the standard gooey mozzarella, the Supreme Pizza was topped with the usual ingredients: pepperoni, mild sausage, beef, green pepper, mushrooms, and onion. The thin pizza crust that was moist enough to have a tad of a chewy texture, yet toasted to a slight crisp. The glaze on the crust had a sharp cheesy taste, definitely a must-try for cheese lovers.

Even our mouseΒ doll friends, Dodsy and Tabby, hurriedly came forward for the cheese! πŸ˜›

On the other hand, the Hawaiian Pizza consisted of ham, pineapple, and extra mozzarella cheese as toppings. Since my dad does not eat ham, we took it out and still the pizza was flavorsome with pineapple dices that helped to round off the taste. These sweet juicy cubes never fail to make the pizza well complemented. The pizza’s crust was was toasted just right and I liked that it wasn’t too hard that will leave my jaws working too hard. Its honey crunch glaze reminded me of breakfast cereals done quite well.

For only PhP 499, you get two family pizzas with flavors and glaze finishers of your choice. Delivery service is for free. I thought these pizza slices are the real deal. The new hand stretched pizzas are available from April 7, 2015 to May 9, 2015 only so eat up! Make it great by stretching your experience up to the last bite as we did. πŸ˜›

Pizza Hut has really brought in a lot of new ideas in Pizza. I remember they had the stuff crust idea before and now they have a hand stretched pizza. Definitely trying this one.

I love Pizza Hut pizza so much! My favorite is also the Hawaiian, but I’m a vegetarian so I omit the ham and add onion and it’s super yummy! That’s awesome that Pizza Hut has made its way to the Philippines!

Haha you’re doing it just like my dad–every time! I remember in the past when we were not familiar with other restaurants which serve vegetarian meals, we always go to Pizza Hut and order the cheese pizza or the Hawaiian Supreme without ham.

We love Pizza Hut pizza. I remember back in the day when they used to hand toss the pizzas here at the restaurants. Your pizzas look amazing, it’s one of our favorite foods to pick up for a quick dinner.

How very interesting! So what makes new hand stretched pizza different from the thin crust one? I’m assuming the thin crust was stretched much more than the regular crust. But it’s cool to know their new marketing term. The idea makes it appealing to customers!

I guess the dough is better and the crust has glaze on it. Even if we heated the leftover pizzas the next day for breakfast, they’re still in tiptop shape. Try it out, Cara. πŸ™‚ These pizzas are available in a limited time.

Is a hand stretched pizza the same as a Hand Tossed Pizza? We have a Pizza Hut right around the corner from us and we like to stop in sometimes and grab some wings.

That is so cool that you have Pizza Hut there. My husband and I eat way too much pizza from there, not that I’m complaining lol. I wonder if they will start doing this in the U.S.? Looks really interesting and delicious!

Why must I always read food posts when I’m starving?! Now I’m even hungrier! I really love the look of those cripsy, cheesy crusts. I wish we had a Pizza Hut here in my part of Ireland, I’d love to try these pizzas.

I would try the 3-Cheese version and I think the best part would be the crust! I always love Pizza Hut pizza, especially when there’s extra grease along the edge of the crust – yum! The ham on the Hawaiian pizza probably brings out all of the flavors though and looks like it’s worth a try as well!

I’m most intrigued on how the cheeseburger pizza would taste like when paired with any of those glaze finishers. I haven’t come across that flavor. πŸ™‚

While some people may still appreciate the original Pizza Hut crust and dough more, at least they are aware that Pizza Hut constantly evolves and innovates pizza offerings to get everyone curious and satisfied with new appealing versions and combinations. πŸ˜‰

Growing up in NY, Pizza Hut was literally sacrilegious. I can honestly say I’ve never even tasted their pizza, but it’s awesome to see that they’re taking measures to make their food tastier! That Hawaiian pie looks great and totally has me craving Italian food at 8:30 am πŸ˜‰ I may have to see if there’s a Pizza Hut by us! Thanks

Wow, I wished they had this here in the States! I love thin crust pizza but my hubs doesn’t. I think this new variety would be a good middle ground between our likes.

We love the thick crust but thin crust pizza is also okay. There are pizza places that are known only for good thin pizza and I get that. But what I love about Pizza Hut is that it offers the thin crust with lots of goodies. The crust was sturdy, tasty, and crisp–just the way it’s supposed to be–nothing more and nothing less.

I absolutely love Pizza Hut and also grew up with them, that’s why even whan European says “Pizza Hut is not real pizza!”, i still prefer Pizza Hut than the “real pizza” hahaha. But i’m wondering, if they make their employee do those weird and cheesy gestures to their customers in the Philippines too or is it just in Indonesia? It’s really disturbing and makes me feel uncomfortable *LOL*

    Reply
    • Rochkirstin Santos

Haha I don’t care if it’s authentic Europen or whatsoever. I just love the taste and texture of their pizza. I haven’t seen any weird gestures of the staff here but what we did notice was that every staff should talk to the customers with a smile, otherwise customers will receive a free treat. πŸ™‚

I love pizza and I love Pizza Hut! But sadly, I have to cut back on pizza or anything oily due to my gallstones. BUT, I do still eat pizza from time to time but not as much as before. So probably, I am going to check this out soon! Thanks for sharing!

Oh yes, you have to watch out for greasy food and oily stuff. My mom also have problems in digestion because her gallbladder had been taken out so diet has to be adjusted to not put much stress on the liver.
