The last time we ate at Royal View Seafood Restaurant was on Valentine’s Day. I came straight from a date with Louie and spent dinner with my family. This time ’round, we had the opportunity to sample a featured set meal for fourΒ (bought by Mom from MetroDeal). We are well-acquainted with the food selection, so there was no great discovery. Still, this Chinese restaurant in SM Mall of Asia proved to excel in the authenticity of the delicacy; good tastes tingled in our tongues just the way we like it. π
Review of Royal View Seafood Restaurant (SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City)
Ambiance: β β β β β
It’s hard to comprehend just how many people dine at Royal View Seafood Restaurant in MOA in any given day. The dining areas are massive, spread right across both “public” and “private” functional rooms. Chandeliers give a classy and grandiose touch to the overall modern, “imperial” vibe. Also providing a good visual impact is the wall opposite the entrance. If it were not for the poor air conditioning, this restaurant would be rated with complete five stars for ambiance.
Service: β β β β β
The management must know that the restaurant would often be busy, hence the count of the staff dealing with guests here. At Royal View Seafood Restaurant, I have no complains about the efficient and quick delivery of service. Treatment was amiable and pleasant. Tea was served as I arrived as well with the menu when requested.
Food: β β β β β
From the featured set meal, we got carbs, seafood and veggies in one go. As appetizer, the Combination of Soy Chicken and Tofu came out first.Β A maintstay of the Chinese table, these classic cold cuts remain to be aΒ “good for the neighborhood” bite at best.
The Steamed Shrimps were cooked well. Seasoned nicely, the shrimps were plump, not rubbery and just remarkable. We added ginger sauce to enhance the taste further. The result? Pretty goodΒ for something so simple.
You can’tΒ go wrong with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls either. These spring rollsΒ had a hint ofΒ sweetness from the sweet-and-sour sauce. Each piece was fitted with savory textures from the tightly packed vermicelli inside and a crispy and slightly crunchy exterior.
The SteamedΒ Fish with GarlicΒ consisted of soft fish fillet thatΒ demonstrated how carefully building subtle flavors can amount to more than the sum of its parts. It’s complemented well with thinly sliced garlic chives, spring onions and cellophane noodles that absorbed much of the light soy sauce taste.
Royal View Seafood Restaurant’s Yang Chow Fried RiceΒ can be noted as a treasure hunt in every spoonful.Β WithΒ smallΒ shrimps and veggies, this food would always be comforting, balanced, true to the ingredients and, perhaps perennially soul-satisfying. That’s why when you don’t know what to order based on theΒ long menu,Β take Yang Chow Fried Rice. It’sΒ the only one you need.
Finally, the Mixed Vegetables with SeafoodΒ gave usΒ quite a respite from the different flavors of the previous dishes. The giant squids and greensΒ absolutely did not miss that vibrant summer punch. Light and fresh, this can be a good start in your attempt to eat healthier this season. π
Price for Value: β β β β β
Chinese restaurants in the Philippines can be a hit or a miss. After all, isn’t hunting down good ones part of a foodie’s adventure? Royal View Seafood Restaurant in MOA is definitely recommendable! It’s is a good introduction for the Chinese food novitiateβclean, bright, and reasonably accommodating.
For the most part though, eating here may not be for a casual affair because regular prices of food on the menu are expensive. It will take more planning than a typical lunch or dinner out. Preferably, since they haveΒ big servings, you should go and dine with a group of at least three to get the most variety of Chinese food.
Thanks to theΒ MetroDeal voucher, we had 66% discount (PhP 499 instead of PhP 1488) on our meal. Based on that, I give price for value a perfect rating; else, it still deserves at least 4/5.
Some restaurants are cool, the environment too and that makes the meal lovely, i like this one, nice place.
On normal occasions, we go here for the vegetarian options, although they only have a few – but they’re GOOD! If you have not tried this place, do yourself a favor and visit soon. π
Wow!those foods are looking so delicious.
We have dined here three times already and have never had a bad meal from this restaurant. Anyone I have introduced to this place has raved about the delicious food. Definitely worth a trip! π
There are restaurants called royal but doesn’t look like a royal one. This one is really Royal. I like it very much and it really makes you feel like a royal persone. Love the decorations and the food. The food looks outstanding!
Glad you noticed that based on the pictures and descriptions. π There were only a few other groups dining among us. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. This is a great place to go with family and buddies.
I love the design of the restaurant design! The food look delicious aswell!
There isn’t anything out of the ordinary on the menu, but everything is made very skillfully.
And that makes me hungry =) Food looks good and I am sure it tastes good too. =)
Yes, you will not get disappointed. If you are looking for a delicious meal to tantalizing your taste buds, Royal View Seafood Restaurant is the one.
I love seafoods and the shrimps looks yummy, even the soy chicken. Nice place to dine.
Seafoods are the star dishes here, and they should be, since the restaurant’s name highlights that. Food come in very reasonable prices, warranting a “revisit” anytime.
The food looks fantastic as much as it tastes. I think the rating is just apt.
Thanks, Clarissa. This restaurant passed on all counts. π
All dishes look very delicious. =D And the interior is gorgeous.
The menu is large and varied so even fussy eaters should find something to their liking. With pretty ambiance, this restaurant easily becomes eye-candy to many people come meal times. Hence, it is nearly always busy. The staff do their best to be efficient.
The dishes seems really good and yummy! Have to try soon!
You must try eating here. π The dishes are printed on easily understood menus (with pictures! yay!) and contain something for everyone, even with some very tentative/seasonal prices.
It looks like an authentic Chinese Restaurant. I should visit the place.
I always see Chinese families dining here when I come, which I take as a reliable indicator of Royal View Seafood Restaurant’s good quality.
Hi, I don’t if its on my side only but your post did not showed any images, but we would like to try Royale View Seafood some other time.
Hmmm I tried viewing my page using multiple browsers and the pictures show. Maybe it’s your Internet connection. Anyway, this place serves really good food. You must visit at least once. π
mY favourite seafood, Looks so Delicious.
The seafood dishes were not very greasy, and were very well presented – much prettier than they looked on the menu pictures. π And yes, everything tasted yummy!
wOw, mY Favourite seafood dish. liked those pictures.
It seems like seafood dishes appeal to a lot of people. You would love eating them than just viewing on pictures for sure. π
Lucky for you that you got a discount with great experience in this restaurant. The Soy chicken and tofu looks the yummiest.
Yup, we totally were fortunate to have gotten the deal thanks to Mommy. π
I love seafoods and they are looking so yummy here. The place looks nice too.
It’s always good at times to dine at a Chinese restaurant far away from all the relatively homogenized restaurants in Chinatown Manila. Slap bang in MOA, Royal View is a really decent place to go for Chinese dishes, especially for a nice dinner on a weekday.
it seems that their dishes are simple.. but according to your say, the food is good, well I trust your judgment hehe
Thanks, Jam! You must try it here but be sure to pre-book. Once you feel full after the meal, walk it off in the picturesque SM By the Bay. π
Awesome place to dine with family members. Besides, there;s a lot of food varieties to choose from.
Yup. The restaurant is very spacious – good for parties. π
It’s great that you got a good deal for this one Roch.
My mom surprised us with the deal and we’re just happy to know that she availed of it early on because the vouchers were sold out quickly.
The ambiance looks so refreshing. Definitely a perfect place for an intimate dinner.
As the name suggests, this place is a little bit more classy then other Chinese restaurants that have typical simple Chinese decors. Its “Royal” claims are actually kind of backed up by the sleek interior decor – so pretty. π
The food here also looks really tasty and satisfying.
It’s one of the finest examples of Chinese cuisine. π
Nice looking restaurant! I feel a bit envious to see that even when you paid using a deal the foods were still very decent and normal looking. In Indonesia (speaking of my town, especially), when you use a deal from sites like groupon.com, they always skimp on the ingredients and the foods always looked like it was made half-heartedly, even for well known places like American Grill (personal experience) LOL
Oh well, some of the restaurants offering deals here in the Philippines via online deals site are the same as you mentioned. This is just one of the few that make customers satisfied even when they order food at discounted prices. π
Oh gahd! That’s one food-gasm you got there! It’s definitely mouth-watering. Tofu are my faves.
It’s not good to miss the tofu! Better order that when you plan to dine in here. π
Thanks for sharing! We’re always having hard times in looking where to eat whenever we visit moa, will try this one, though im not into chinese food but this one looks promising!
Hehe you’re welcome! I know how difficult it is to search for good restaurants and decide where to eat. Yup, this restaurant can be one of your safe options. π
[…] Monday, after dinner at Royal View Seafood Restaurant, I was craving for some dessert. Unfortunately, my top two selections for desserts on their menu […]
You did a terrific job of showcasing the beautiful decor and exquisite dishes. I love your photos too.
Thanks, Eliz! π
That food looks really good! I’d take a shrimp plate as well. The interior looks very cozy, so nice that the food/price quality is so good
Yup, everything is good here except that you may find the regular prices on the menu shockingly way expensive than the discounted rates.
You really take great photos! I’m always hungry after reading your posts. I’ll try looking for Metrodeal vouchers before trying this one out.
Thanks, Badet! π Reading reviews of bloggers who have tried using deals bought from MetroDeal can help you decide to go or not to go. This one is a sure “go.” π
One consideration i look forward in a restaurant is the ambiance and this one’s looks cozy and appealing. Definitely one place to visit on my bucket list.
The ambiance counts a lot when considering the overall rating of a restaurant.
I love Chinese food! I will add Royal View to my bucket list.
Please do. You won’t be disappointed. π
The place really looks great and the foods look delicious, i miss eating tofu
Tofu is such a simple dish but the texture is just amazing!
i love shrimp! i like the interior of the restaurant
Try dining at Royal View the next time you visit MOA. π
The steamed fish with garlic looks like an interesting dish
Yes, it’s so good! π
I’ll make sure we eat there the next time we’re in MOA.
I am really tempted to get Metro deal vouchers but those coupon deals have a lot of negative feedback eh. Or maybe I chanced only on the negative feedback always.
We have had many experiences on MetroDeal vouchers. Most are positive naman.
Just want to ask how big their servings are…
I purchased 2 set meals good for 8-10 persons and 13 persons will dine… Would it fit? Or should I order more?
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi Renier. 1 set meal is okay for four people to share. Your two set meals now may be enough for 8-10 (depending on the appetite). I think you should buy another set. π Welcome!
