Sometime in mid-September 2013, I officially accepted a mission. It was a mission to test out the Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack which is composed of the Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion, Novuhair Herbal Shampoo and Novuhair Herbal Conditioner and see if I can vouch for these products for what they are known.
I thought that my dad (who’s now nearing 60 years old) rather than myself would be a better candidate to check what Novuhair has to offer. I told him to try Novuhair and use the trio every day. It has been a month now since he took on a “healthy hair journey.” So, did Novuhair products work for him? You asked. I’m answering.

Active Natural Ingredients

Review of Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack (as told by Daddy)
My dad’s hair always looked flat, thin and very oily. After the “Novuhair treatment,” he was amazed as his hair appeared and felt significantly thicker and fuller now. His hair became soft but not without the conditioner. He especially likes that the three products together add shine, add volume, clean thoroughly and lather well. How many times a day can I use NovuHair Shampoo?
Novuhair looks effective, might recommend it to my brother who’s having bald spots at a very young age. The only problem with this product is the price, not everyone can avail it because it is too steep. Well, if the result is worth the price I’ll gladly indulge.
About the price – I agree. Not everyone can afford paying nearly PHp 5k for three 200mL bottles of these herbal products. However if your brother truly wants his hair to grow back then this is the solution. The only positive thing is that you don’t have to waste money trying other brands that you’re not sure will work.

Hi mam im one the victim of baldness due to coloring my hair may it cause allergy to my scalp. Im the one doing it . The color called hairdix i bought thus in Watsons for only 160 pesos only . I rinse it after 40 minutes . Then the follwing day i went to the parlor to treat my hair as keratin only . After that they blower my hair the i felt pain my scalp doing it . In the next day after my Keratin I felt a dizzyness in my face and scalp . Then after one week I go the parlor again to do the rebond . But the owner of the oarlor says that my scalp was dry up . She told me after my rebond go the dermotologist for the check up . Afte two months i noticed my hair is not normal for falling hair . It was more than 100 strands a day . Until such time I wnet to the dermatologist to check my hair . The result of my hair is due to chimical abuse . The doctor says I went through the baldness . So its true I am struggling the result . I think for your case, it’s best to take a bath or shower once you get home kasi it’s important here that your scalp is clean (walang pores na natatabunan ng dumi). So shampoo ka na lang twice. 🙂

To be safe and to make sure that healthy hair would last longer, use Novuhair for long as you can. Most people’s complain is just the cost. If you can afford it though, it’s best to continue for a lifetime. Else, once you feel the improvement, you may want to switch to other brand but choose to use organic shampoo and hair products over highly commercialized ones that contain strong chemicals.

Yup. 🙂 Once in the morning and once at night before going to sleep. This is to ensure that your scalp stays clean so the pores would not be blocked so hair follicles will remain healthy. You can have a scalp test to see how oily your scalp is. I know there are some free tests now being conducted at Watsons and other random stalls inside the supermarket. Try it when you have the chance. You can ask someone to shampoo for you hehe sa faucet lang nakatayo ka. 😀

Actually I have read three versions of instructions on the Novuhair website. First version: massage after applying shampoo. Second: massage after applying hair conditioner. Third: massage after applying the lotion. I also don’t know which to follow. To be safe, I would massage after applying each of these. 5 minutes lang naman and total time massaging would be 15 minutes. That duration is considerably short lang if maganda ang magiging result talaga. I suggest to try this in two weeks and see if okay. 😀

With consistent daily use of at least two times a day for 4-6 weeks, you can look forward to its benefits in preventing hair loss, retarding further hair thinning and improving the overall cosmetic properties of your hair. Increased number of hair growth will be noticeable mostly on the 4th month, depending on the commitment and frequency of usage. Don’t use gel, wax and other hair products which contain too much chemicals.

Hi Tim, you read it right. My dad is not balding but just have thinning hair like the scalp is seen because of the thin hair. He used to have really thick hair when he was younger and I have his genes. Now we can still see the scalp but it’s obvious that the hair texture has become thicker.
He uses the lotion and shampoo every other day since he washes his hair only every other day. The bottles were nearly empty on the fourth month.
Yes, the products are applied all over the head since the hair thinning runs across the scalp and not on selected areas only.
For daily use, I guess both will last for 1.5-2 months.

Hi ML Skye. Yes, it’s safe for you. Apply the scalp lotion at the onset. When you notice strands of hair growing, boost the hair regrowth by using the shampoo as well. I recall that this was how Abby Asistio did it.

Hi Vincent. I don’t think Novuhair is one that will make hair go black once again. What it will do is just to improve hair growth. Your tita’s hair might be too exposed with chemicals. I suggest that she stops coloring her hair muna or try natural dye to color her hair if she wants to have healthier hair. 😀

Hi Jade. First use shampoo to wash your hair. Massage your scalp gently to make sure that the scalp absorbs the nutrients, then rinse. Second, use conditioner to soften the hair. Some people may not want the conditioner especially guys because they have short hair anyway. If not kasi gamitin hindi smooth yung hair. Lastly, use the lotion and just let it stay even when your hair is wet until it’s dry and you are at work. It’s up to you if you want to use the conditioner every day but the shampoo+lotion combo is a must kasi yun ang effective. Yes, 15-year-olds can use this product. It’s safe as you’ve read in my post and in Novuhair’s website.

Hi Ish! I think it’s better to combine the lotion and shampoo together because the shampoo works to eradicate the excess oil (sebum) from the scalp and clean it for new hair to grow. The lotion, on the other hand, enhances the growth and works as a balm. If you want to see improvement, continuously use it for 4-6 months. At least that’s what I learned from forums and the Novuhair website. 😀
Hi. I have a very thin hair at the center of my head from my front part of the head and I have used this product but only the Shampoo and Lotion, haven’t tried the 3-in-1 yet. My question, is there a difference if there’s no conditioner? Just the shampoo and lotion in the effect of hair growth? I have stopped using it after I used it twice (approx 4 months of shampoo and lotion), though i see baby hairs na pero the cost stopped me using it. I am planning to re-use it again and this time I’ll try the 3-in-1, hope this time it works.
Hello Jay-R! I think the conditioner is only to make your hair smooth and soft because using the shampoo alone will make the hair coarse and its texture, hard. The real effect comes from the combo of shampoo+lotion. Try using the products until 6 months then compare the results. If price is an issue, opt in for other herbal shampoo and retain the use of lotion. OK lang siguro ganun. 🙂

Hi, Before po kasi gumamit ako ng Regroe topical lotion (minoxidil ata yun), kaso nakalagay dun na kelangan twice a day gamitin and kapag nagskip ka like sa isang araw e once mo lang nagamit hindi na sya magiging effective. Hi Stephen. Thanks for reading my blog posts. That’s a good question. I think a receding hairline is one of the symptoms or early signs of balding. Another one is thinning hair on the scalp or a horseshoe shaped pattern that leaves the crown of the head exposed. These involve malfunctions of follicles (the cells that grow hair) that slow the production of hair and begin to shrink. I also suggest watching this YouTube video for reference. You’re welcome!

I think the hair will grow if you’ll be regularly applying the shampoo and lotion even if di ka nagpakalbo kasi the product will rinse away the dirt and excess oil that’s the culprit for the hair shafts not growing. Mild lang siguro at walang masyadong harsh chemicals ang baby shampoo since it’s made for babies kaya maganda but not to the point that it can remove the dirt from the scalp the way that the Novuhair shampoo can (with certain natural elements combined). Hi Christian. He applies it in alternating days so it took about 2.5 months for him to empty the bottle. I think there’s a section in Watsons for herbal shampoos that are quite cheaper with decent prices. I don’t know which one works effectively though kasi halos sasabihin ng mga staff okay sila. I suggest that you visit Watsons and maybe list down all the brands of herbal shampoos you see that are available in the store. Then, make a quick Google search on reviews to help you decide which to buy. 🙂

I haven’t read and heard of novuhair users who have complained about getting skin irritations on the scalp though. Hi! I think you should try Novuhair first for 6 months at least to see the difference. The magic does not happen overnight. I have seen Abby Asistio use it for over a year now and look how far she’s come. She has her hair grown back at malago. A lot of people online are asking the same question – on what alternative they can use since Novuhair costs expensive. But sorry, I can’t recommend any other product brand since we haven’t tested them. I also can’t vouch for the safety of using other shampoo in the market. For now, what Novuhair website suggests is to save more money so you can buy Novuhair – but that’s crazy sales talk.

Pero I think kung okay na sa salon professional yung thickness and healthiness of your hair for rebond, pwede na. Just take note that after hair rebonding, you need to observe a 30-day resting period before using Novuhair again. This is to make sure that all the harsh chemicals applied from the rebond procedure had been totally washed out.

Yes, I think that you should apply the lotion after you shampoo since your scalp will need to be really clean and without grease so the lotion will be totally absorbed and be effective. 🙂
Is it necessary to shampoo your hair first before applying the Novuhair lotion? The way I do it is, I shampoo my hair in the morning then apply the lotion. At night (same day) I apply the lotion to clean scalp without shampooing. Would this be okay and please let me know. Thanks.

Hello. I don’t remember any advice from Novuhair saying that you should wash using mineral water but maybe that’s better or just cold water. Regarding shampooing before application of the lotion, just make sure that your scalp is clean (meaning, without excessive sebum/oil or dirt that will tend to block the lotion’s ingredients). The Novuhair herbal shampoo was designed to complement the effect of the lotion. If you prefer to use other brands of herbal shampoo, you may choose to do so. 🙂 You’re welcome!

Hi. Just recently I noticed some bald spots on my hair. I went to see a doctor and he mentioned that it is Alopecia Areata. Same case with Abby Asistio. He advised a twice a month steroid injection since it was auto immune disorder. He also prescribed a minoxidil topical spray. I really want to try novuhair because it might help me to regain my hair faster. I’m a 30 years old female, imagine how horrying experience would that be, losing your hair. It’s really hard to lose hair when you’re that young, especially when you have to be presentable for work and meeting other people. I think you can use minoxidil for a couple of weeks as prescribed by your doctor so you can see the results and then compare the results when you use Novuhair.

He applies the lotion every day but he washed his hair with shampoo every other day. I think you may choose to not shampoo again in the morning if your scalp is not too oily. 🙂

Hi Christine. My dad did not try any chemical treatment prior to using Novuhair. He has just always covered his head with a cap. I have known people whose problem is balding used minoxidil for three months before the results were seen as effective. Maybe you can do the same. Wait for three months (or advised by the hair doctor) before using Novuhair. 🙂

During application of the shampoo i see alot of hair on my hand, this one alarms me; this happens to me before when using other shampoo,but not as many when i try Novuhair(maybe up to 50% added), is their something wrong when i apply it? (my method is apply it to thin part directly then massage but after seeing the hairs on my hand, on the next day i try just putting it on my hand then in my hair and scalp then massage). Hi Eithan, can you specify how many hair strands you are losing per day? According to the Novuhair site, it is normal to shed 50 to 100 strands each day as part of the hair growth cycle. Beyond this number is considered abnormal. Application advised: Spray liberally NOVUHAIR® Topical Scalp Lotion to the entire scalp twice daily after shampooing and conditioning, then massage for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse off with water or leave it on and style as desired using non-alcohol based hairstyling products.

After achieving the desired results, you may pause for two months then start another treatment for the next 2-8 months. I couldn’t read all comments above. Not sure if this has been asked. I just wanted to know if I can use the Novu shampoo and lotion and use creamsilk hair fall defense as conditioner. The 200ml shampoo can last 2months for me but the conditioner can only last for 2 weeks. Don’t want to take the risk of mixing different brands coz kinda scared to lose more hair than what it suppose to be. Thank you for checking.

The answer is yes, as long as what you will use as an alternative to Novuhair shampoo or conditioner is organic or those that don’t contain strong/harsh chemicals on the scalp and hair strands. Yes, he already has white hairs at an early age–about 30 (genetic, runs from family). My mom regularly dyes his hair with henna. I don’t think using Novuhair increases the rate of hairs turning white. My dad is now 60.

Hi, Meron po nito sa mercury drugstores. you can buy ung lotion lang or if kaya mu naman, pti ung shampoo & conditioner… it is just like a regular shampoo / conditioner though hindi siya gaanong mabula kasi all natural.. ung lotion nman, ako ginamit ko un 2x a day (1x after maligo and 1x before going to bed..

Hello.. Nagbabalak kasi ako bumili nito. I’m actually have thinning hair since 2011. Nung una sa tuktok lang yung manipis. Tapos since 2015 napansin ko Pati sa harap manipis na din. Since 2009 upto 2013 umiinom ako ng Depakote which is anticonvulsant na gamot. Tapos nagstop na ako uminom. Then by November 2015 uminom ulit ak nung gamot hanggang December. Then last week nagresearch ako at nagulat ako na ang side effect pala ng Depakote na medicine ko ay hair loss. I’m using it for more than 4 years na. Naaasar ako kasi yun pala ang dahilan. I used novuhair 3-1 worth almost 5k..i thought its really effective though nawala lang dandruff ko, ate age of 20 sobrang taas na ng hairlines ko kaya ko to ginamit at nagpa kalbo pa ako para maslalong effective, kahit wala akong nakikitang before and after use ng novuhair binili ko parin dahil sa mga nababasa ko sa mga reviews. But very super disappointed lang kc walang nangyari sa hair ko at maslalo pang tumaas ang hairline ko, pinapanood ko yung result sa youtube sabi ng mga nagtry just few weeks or month lng may tumutubo na pero ako pinagbigyan ko 3-4 months na mkita yung result pero ubos na ung lotion and conditioner walang nangyari talaga.. Sinusunod ko ung instruction and maintain healthy and unstressed kasu wala talaga nakakapang hinayang. If you really want to cure hair loss, Use a topical product with MINOXIDIL. This has approved therapeutic claims of growing hair in the US FDA. There are two topical products in the Philippines, named “REGROE” and “ISAC”, that has Minoxidil and can be bought through drugstores (e.g. mercury, watsons, etc).
