Vikings fans in BF Parañaque, rejoice! The largest buffet restaurant in the Philippines has opened its seventh branch last January 24, 2015, Friday in SM City BF Parañaque. As soon as I received and read the invitation, I felt excited to embrace yet another Vikings experience as if it were my first. 🙂
Vikings Luxury Buffet is the kind of buffet restaurant you walk into and immediately know you’re in a place where good things happen. Each branch has a different environment that somewhat tells a different story apart from the other. Just like Vikings in SM Jazz Residences, Makati which I’ve visited not too long ago, Vikings SM BF is likewise a foodie destination that has touched my heart, and of course, my stomach! 😛
With Ms. Raquel, Vikings Marketing Manager, and my parents
Review of Vikings Luxury Buffet SMBF (SM City, BF Homes, Parañaque)
Ambiance: ★★★★★
Designed with earthy tones all throughout, Vikings SM BF is a great place to fetch some serenity while indulging with a huge variety of delicious food. A cozy space with about 350-400 seats, Vikings’ atmosphere is surrounded with woodwork and plants, enough to make guests feel like they’re in an enchanted modern forest.
The natural surfaces and sweeping lines are mostly composed of green and brown palette, speaking to the structure of trees, reminiscent of nature and all its beauty.
Not to be missed are the elegant chandeliers which came draping from the high-vault ceilings. I was most enamored with the one by the reception area. It looked like it was made with diamonds, ice, or crystal constellations.
The decors certainly brought energy that lit up in bright colors. Fish accents on the wall in the function room especially gave the impression of a fun, dynamic, and harmonious effect.
Service: ★★★★★
The level of Vikings’ service was really up there with the staff being super attentive to customers’ requests and needs. Everyone was nice, helpful, and friendly.
Have someone in your table who celebrates his/her birthday? They will happily play and sing a mash-up Happy Birthday song to serenade the celebrant. 🙂
Food: ★★★★★
Serving food ranging from upscale contemporary to timeless classics, Vikings Luxury Buffet branch in SM Parañaque left an impressionistic mark. Taking pictures of the beautifully presented dishes alone already made me swallow my saliva before eating. Everything looked just so irresistible. 😆
Being on the constant lookout for something spectacular and food renditions that scream wow, I stayed away from the regular favorites (Japanese and Chinese food) this time. The goal was to give myself the chance to taste those I haven’t given much attention in my previous Vikings encounters and discover new preferences.
For appetizers, I filled my plate with the international salads, bread, and cold cuts before proceeding to attack the mains. Highlights for me included Roasted Beef Steak Tagalog, Davao de Humba, Baked Chicken Caldereta, Beer Batter Fish Escabeche, Pinakbet Con Hipon, Black Palabok, and Green Chicken. The flavors were all BOLD and SAVORY to say the least.
On the Mediterranean counter, recommended dishes are Pescado con Salsa Verde, Pollo con Champignon, Callos, and the very special Valenciana Paella. In the Meat section, you will not go wrong with the US Beef Entrecôte, Spit-Her Leg of Lamb, Baked Cajun Turkey, Whole Barbeque Chicken Jamaican Jerky, and Belly-Chon. The moist, tender, and hearty meat can be delicately paired with your sauce or gravy of choice: Mint Jelly, Mustard, or Sea Salt with Rosemary.
Drinks and desserts available were no different from those in other Vikings branches. We quenched our thirst with chilled juices and neutralized food tastes with Twinings Tea. Finally, we tried to conserve space in our tummy to accommodate one tiny slice each of the beautifully plated cakes and other treats that drew wows. The avocado ice cream was well-received by many guests. It’s the perfect closure to our meal as well.

Price for Value: ★★★★☆
For the price conscious, eating in Vikings may not always sound like a good deal. However, considering the big sumptuous buffet spread consisting of food that’s cooked in high standards and presented in great quality, price for value is actually fair.
At Vikings SM BF in Parañaque, it’s all about enjoying a simplified culinary tour across the globe. This is definitely a pleasant joint to celebrate a momentous occasion and spend quality time with families and friends. So despite the growing competition from numerous other buffet places in Metro Manila, Vikings Luxury Buffet still reigns as number one in my book.

Vikings has been my family’s go to place when we can’t decide on what to eat… Affordable for the variety and the service is excellent ^_^ … Its great that they are expanding ^_^ see you soon roch
Hi Jeng! Parang it has been a while since we last saw each other. 😛 Vikings is a restaurant that’s reliable and good, always serving top quality food at reasonable prices. Another area where it excels in is the interior design. What elegance!
Vikings is one place I really am dying to visit! I heard a lot of good things about this place and how good the service is to this place. I must visit to this place!
Yes, every branch of Vikings has a good variety of food and the service staffs are very friendly. The place is normally full so it’s advisable to make a booking. 😉
Wow, 350-400 people sounds huge! the only buffets that big I have been to are in Las Vegas. Excellent that both the food and service was so good! All of the pictures of the food look so delicious, it is making it difficult for me to decide what I will make for lunch. Wish I could just hit up Viking buffet and have it all!
Yeah when you’re there for the first time, you will especially feel more pressured. 😛 I must say that Vikings serve the best of what they have, and frankly, one cannot have too much space of a stomach. When the thing is good but limited, a few makes it more valuable. Hit it up some time.
Wow, look at all that amazing food! I love going to buffets because there is always such a big variety of food.
Make your reservation before going! 🙂 I was drooling while reviewing this restaurant.
WOW, the number of choices in this buffet is staggering! I wish we have this in our town, sadly we have very limited buffet places (mostly in hotels and very very repetitive) so i am extremely underwhelmed when i am asked for a meal in local buffet places. Love the ambience of the place as well! And your dad’s so cute! I wonder if my dad would ever let me put such a funny hat on him… (then again he probably would coz i’m daddy’s little girl hahaha)
Haha yes, my dad is just game anytime and it’s clear that he enjoyed our meal even when all he had were food safe for vegetarians. Well, that’s actually the good news. With Vikings serving lots of kinds of food on every counter, there are veg-friendly items for the non-meat eaters. 🙂
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Vikings. And from the looks of it, the buffet is sumptuous!
You will know that for sure once you try. 🙂 I would suggest you take the time to have a real walk around to make sure that you don’t miss anything.
I don’t think I have ever been to a luxury buffet. However, this one sounds amazing. If I was in the area I would definitely have to check it out. When I take the kids out I usually take them to a buffet.
For kids, I recommend the “Create Your Own Pasta.” Vikings offers creamy and tasty pasta sauces that can particularly satisfy the kids’ taste buds. Another counter which they will most probably enjoy is the desserts section. Plenty of good finds! 🙂
It seems like you are touring all the Viking Restaurants in Metro Manila. It’s nice that they are adding some branches. I still haven’t tried the one in Jazz Residences in Jupiter which is a few minutes walk from our office. Maybe given your knowledge of Vikings, you should give me a tour of the one in Jupiter. =>
Haha you can walk in there anytime with your officemates. Vikings in SM Jazz Residences is by far still my favorite because it’s relatively nearest to my area (aside from MOA branch) and it has got the most beautiful interior design. Like wow talaga! 😛
I was a bit hungry before reading this post and now I am STARVING!!! And the eggs and toast I had planned to eat somehow don’t seem so appealing anymore. 🙂 What a beautiful restaurant and the food looks out of this world!
Haha I feel that same way too whenever I’m looking at vivid pictures of delicious food. Vikings is a great choice when celebrating anything festive!
Everything looks great. I love that they had live music for birthdays, ha!, and the dessert is so unique looking… I’d def. be lost in trying to decide which one to try. 🙂
The singing staff is one of the things you would want to catch when you’re in Vikings. Their performances are simple but really entertaining. The plus point about Vikings is that it’s a very cozy restaurant and not teeming with boisterous diners although the restaurant was pretty busy on the day we were there.
That food all looks so amazing! I haven’t heard of Vikings before, but it looks incredible!
Everything just tasted good, so prepare an empty stomach and prepare to dig in! 🙂
All of that food looks absolutely amazing! And the restaurant is beautiful as well!
Beautiful is one good word to describe it. 🙂 Vikings manages to create a venue which combines a contemporary look with fine dining flair and plush lounges in one single place.
I’ve never heard of this place but would definitely go! I love the decor and the food looks amazing! Great pics!
Vikings is a popular buffet restaurant here in the Philippines, and it actually needs no introduction for most people here. 🙂
oh wow i am so jealous of the food, I want to eat all of it. The decor is just unbelievable I feel like I want to move to the Philippines so I can come eat at the vikings daily. Great and thorough review.
Haha thanks, Myra! 🙂 Every time there’s a newly opened Vikings branch, it creates a sense of anticipation.
Heh. My husband watches the show “Vikings” obsessively and tells me that he is a descendant of the Nordic people. He would totally get a kick out of this. Thank you so much for sharing!
You’re welcome, Chelsea! Eat like a Viking! This is the place to see, and to be seen. 🙂
Man what a gorgeous spot to eat – I love the vibe. Nothin better than a feed at a buffet. Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves too 🙂 🙂
Yup, Vikings has a lot of character. The price is worth the experience. 🙂
What a beautiful set up they have there. That buffet has a great selection of foods!
Vikings Luxury Buffet is best visited when you have time to indulge in a superb meal! 🙂
This looks amazing! 🙂 The food looks so good!
Hope you could visit and enjoy eating like a viking here. 🙂
Wow! This is such a beautiful restaurant and what a huge variety of food. The hat is cracking me up!
Haha I love the hat too! If only I could use it outside and make it my fashion statement. 😛 Vikings really always serves great food and ambiance to its customers. 🙂
I hope they can bring Vikings here too! So many delicious and great food there!
Vikings Luxury Buffet is an all-in-one place to eat all your favorite food from different cuisines. It’s heaven on earth for foodies. 🙂
What a beautiful restaurant. It looks like such a high class place.
What’s quite ironic is that with a very classy ambiance, Vikings is not a place to be demure with all the great food choices. 😛
Good thing that there are now a lot of Vikings branches. That would mean no more crowding in the branches near me, haha!
That’s true. No more long lines outside too. 😛
I have been waiting for Vikings in Cebu to open. Your pictures made me drool.
Vikings seems to be expanding with a growing number of customers so let’s hope for a Cebu branch. 😛
Vikings is my family’s favorite buffet restaurant. They have wide selection of yummy dishes. It’s good to know that they opened another branch.
It’s our favorite too! We’re not really big eaters pero sulit pa rin kasi we get to eat almost all the food that suit our taste.
Oh wow! That place looks awesome…and the array and abundance of food is so enormous. It truly epitomizes what a buffet is like! 🙂
Their food choices are no joke that make the dining experience a very affordable and worthy one. 😀
All of these pictures just made me super hungry! This place looks like an amazing place to eat! Thanks so much for the awesome review!
Thanks, Lauren! This place can really make anyone drool and go hungry. 😛
Looks a very nice buffet in your country, very interesting, I’d love to visit there soon!! All deserts on photos looks so sweet and tasty.
Yeah, Vikings is no doubt an exceptional buffet restaurant. 🙂 Every experience will bring you smiles!
That restaurant looks amazing – and on top of that you get a cool hat too! I would definitely eat there. The whole area looks so fresh and inviting – I love open restaurants, the space always makes me feel happy.
Well, they just had this fun promotion on its opening day. Those who go in clad with a Viking’s costume will get 50% discount! So a lot of people came prepared and made their own sword, badge, vest, hat, etc. to be granted the offer. Vikings also held a photo contest where the best in costume would win free lunch buffets for two. 🙂
Oh my gosh! Wow – such great look food and what a variety – love the look not only of the food – but the facility looks beautiful – and that hat is just so fashionable on you!
Haha thanks for the compliment, Donna! So many people looked at me from head to toe that day when I was in Vikings and even when I went around the mall for some window-shopping moment. 😛 I appreciated them all.
I’ve never been to Vikings. I hope my husband will treat me there on my birthday 🙂
Hope he reads your comment and fulfill your wish! What’s nice about Vikings is that you don’t have to pay when you are celebrating your birthday. Just bring one full-paying adult and you’re free! 🙂
Dang! Look at all those mouth-watering foods. They sure made me drool. I love going to buffets and that’s the time that I really indulge. 🙂
We rarely go to buffet restaurants but when we do, we really make sure that we get our money worth. 🙂 Dining at Vikings is a great way to indulge.
My officemates just tried Vikings this lunch time but I begged since I had a lunch meeting and I don’t want to get bloated before my marathon.
Oh yes that’s not a good timing. 🙂 You can always drop by next time!
I like the design of this branch better than ours here in Davao and I’m glad they’ve served Davao de Humba! At least, you’ll get to taste our delicacy! 😀
Yup! Vikings is truly like a one-stop buffet restaurant to find everything that’s great. 😀
wow, the foods served are mouth watering! This is quite a shame but I’ve honestly never been to Vikings yet! I hope we could visit anytime soon.
It’s not too late to try and visit one! And I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first and last time you’d eat there. 😀
Looks like a gorgeous place! And the food looks amazing!
Vikings Luxury Buffet is not a let-down with amazing food choices and elegant interior. 🙂
I want to go just because of the name Viking and it has a legitimate Viking theme. Cool. The food looks amazing, too.
Eating here does make me feel like a viking being served with top selections of food and classy interior. Hope you could try out this place. 🙂
So. much. food. I would be totally stuffed there! What a great place.
The food choices are really overwhelming! But you could check all the food first to decide on what you’d like to get that shouldn’t be missed. In this way, you would surely be able to eat your favorites before getting full.
Wow, that looks like one heck of an appetizing buffet! Great representation of both the restaurant and the spread of food. I have to say, that’s a buffet done right.
The buffets where I live are generally more ethnically-focused, and not too appealing to me. (That, plus I generally can’t reap the benefits at a buffet since there’s more to try than I can comfortably eat.) 😉 But this.. this is a buffet place that I’d like to try. 😀
xo,
lauriel
I agree! All their food are delicious and high-quality that makes the price very affordable. Whether you like Asian, Mediterranean, or Western cuisine, there will surely be something out there for you to suit your taste. Hope you could visit here soon! 🙂
I absolutely love a good buffet, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant looks pretty cool and inviting. Oh wow, that boat/canoe holding all of the sushi looks like a winner. Love their presentation! It looks like they really take pride in providing customers with an awesome experience.
The interior and ambiance in all Vikings branches are really always interesting plus their great food to make it a perfect place to dine and celebrate events.
Love your food shots! Anytime I can eat like a viking has a thumbs up from me! This is so great! The more food the better!
Thanks! I love that line, “The more food the better!” Haha And I must also say that I enjoyed eating more with great company like my parents. 🙂
Vikings looks awesome! We have a place *similar* to this, called The Mandarin, but it’s not quite as diverse.
Gah, every time I stop by this blog I’m always made hungry!! 😛
I love when you do food reviews, even though I can’t visit any of the restaurants you mention because I’m located in Canada. You write beautifully- is English your primary language, if you don’t mind me asking? If not, I’m genuinely in awe of how well you have mastered it. I truly do love this blog- every time I stop by, the photography is impeccable, the writing is beautiful and things are written about honestly.
You’ve done a great job and continue to do so….from one blogger to another 🙂
Thanks, Alysia! 🙂 I’m happy to receive such a kind comment from you! I’ll check out reviews of The Mandarin as well. It sounds interesting to view what it offers.
To answer your question, no, English is not my primary language. Actually, I think it’s either Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Filipino. 🙂 I’m Chinese living in the Philippines. We just studied English in school and learned how to compose entries. Now, we also use English in the corporate setting. I’m not a master of the language, but I believe I’m quite fluent at it. 😀
Looks like my kind of restaurant! The food looks amazing!you have so many to choose from. I’ll definitely drop by if I’m there
Asian, Mediterranean and Western cuisines can all be found here that makes it a sure fit to anyone’s taste. 🙂
my favorite in viking’s will always be the japanese cuisine… i just love sushi and sashimi… thinking this is where i will treat my former professor as a tribute to him …
Sweet! I love the sashimis too especially my mom. She would always have it on her plate in every round and tell us how she loves it.
I’ve been telling my friend about that place for a while. Because a branch opened near her place, she can finally try it out.
That’s great! It would be even better if she’s going to dine with her loved ones to enjoy the experience and food more. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to eat a viking related restaurant, I thought they would be so cool. Because when you think viking you think of large portions of food, esp meat products. But wow do they have a lot of choices on the food side, I would not know where to start.
Yup! There’s a huge variety of food choices here so what we sometime do is to check all the food first before getting them to our plates. This allows us to eat all our top choices first before we get full. 😛
i havent try to dine at any viking branches here in manila, but with your blog about it, that makes me interested to try and visit it soon
Yay! Haha Some branches offer a few differences with their food choices but they all taste great nonetheless. Hope you could try their food soon. 🙂
Looks like a beautiful place and that food looks delicious!
Vikings will always be known in serving top food choices with an elegant atmosphere to bring comfort and a quality experience to its customers.
What a super elegant food place. The food looks really delicious. Thanks for giving us an overview about it.
Sure! Hope you could visit this place soon and try out their superb food.
your photos stimulates my appetite..just looking at the buffet tables of any Vikings resto is already a treat!
Hehe seeing all the food also make me feel full already but it’s so much worthy to actually taste and eat them. Haha
I really love VIKINGS so much, from the ambiance of the place to their FOODSSSSSSSS. Hahahaha…
I am planning to celebrate my daughter’s 12th birthday here at the Vikings.
That’s nice! Vikings is truly a perfect venue to celebrate special events. Sulit sa busog. 😀
This looks like a fantastic place to eat. I would really like it if there was one of those around here. The food looks fantastic.
A great variety of food choices are available here to cater anyone’s taste. Hope you could visit here! 🙂
cool interior design and nice ambiance. The foods, never mind, basta ang alam ko yummy kapag Viking, been to Viking MOA na kasi. But this newly opened branch is much closer to our place. BTW, sino yung Viking model sa last photo?
Yup! Vikings never disappoints from their interior to food! Haha kalookalike ko ba ung model? :)) Joke. Hehe thanks, Papa Leng!
You’ll love Niu by Vikings then.
I’m excited that Viking’s will finally open in Bacolod. Something to look forward to. 🙂
Ohh it will? I’m excited for that and I bet that it will be a hit in the city of smiles. 😛
Congrats to Vikings for an astounding 7th branch. Those people in the south deserve their food too.
Yup, I bet that they had waited for this for a long time. Finally, Vikings granted their wish and made their dream come true. 🙂 They no longer have to travel far.
The ambiance of this place is impressive. I feel like I will really enjoy everything, including the foods of course. Talking about foods, oh… I am speechless.
While you’re there, you’d want to just get the most of out the experience. Dining in this buffet restaurant isn’t just about eating all that you can. For me, it’s more about quenching your thirst for those food you have been wanting to try for the longest time and then eating those you thought could best make the price worth. 🙂
Vikings in BF Paranaque also has an elegant ambience! I’d love to visit soon!
Yup, you’ll love it here for sure. 🙂
This place looks so amazing! All of that food is making my mouth water! Haha. I would love to go eat at a place like this! Wish this was closer to me 🙂 thanks for reviewing this place!
Vikings has seven branches now in the Philippines. Go to one that’s closest to your home. 🙂
The place is gorgeous! The decor is amazing. My friends and I once split a sushi boat like that – ah-mazing!
Sushi is one of my favorite food. Vikings’ sushi rolls are always fresh and tasty. 🙂
It is good that the largest buffet chains has alot more branches buuuutt, the one near me has still long queue (SM Jazz)! Haha! I thought finally we will be able to try it since I don’t like waiting yun pala hindi pa rin. Maybe, on my birthday na lang.
Ahh haha it’s better if you have a reservation so you won’t have to be waiting super long in queue. 🙂
I didn’t know that Vikings are that affordable. I mean, having 4 kids, it’s hard to choose which buffet restaurant is sulit with us. I can’t imagine myself paying full for my two youngest, they can’t even finish a whole cup of rice.. Same price at Megamall ba?
No, rates in SM Megamall are pricier. You can check out this article for reference: http://rochkirstin.com/review-of-vikings-luxury-buffet-restaurant-sm-megamall-mandaluyong/
It’s always a feast when you dine in Vikings. It never disappoints its customers. Personally, this is the best buffet dining place in the Philippines.
True. I haven’t tried Niu but I am planning to celebrate my dad’s birthday there next month. With that thought, I’m already excited. Weee! 🙂
Going there tomorrows for my sons 12’th Birthday Celebration;) surely the food looks so inviting and yummy, and the ambiance seemed nice as well. Thank you
for this info, made my first choice already.
Yay! Hope you have a great celebration with your son’s birthday. 🙂 Have a blast and enjoy eating like a Viking!
[…] the brunch buffet items are not exactly numerous as those of Vikings, M Café’s Sunday Boutique Brunch has something for everyone on the table, echoing […]
This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool!
Thanks! Sure, go start your own blog and feel free to share your links here so other readers would learn more. 🙂
Viking SM Bf ambiance is good. but buffet very poor 5:30-10:00pm.Oct.22 Buffet should be always full.meat and seafood very limited serving Japanese section very slow preparation. Lobster not available n wine. 9:00 pm no more beer at the cooler. The floor sticky at dessert section. Much better at Moa seaside.
