“Move your dreams forward and bless the world.”

Last September 27 2014, I joined Dreambook Project’s workshop on World Dream Day and was inspired to dream different. In the event, we were asked to choose specific areas of goals and rate them according to how close we thought we were getting to them (1 being the farthest attaining the goal and 10 being the closest).

My three goals then were as follows:

  • Health: I dream to have a leaner, more toned body. (9)
  • Family: I dream to spend more quality time with family discovering new places and learning life lessons together. (9)
  • Career: I dream to open up a business without having to compromise my day-job. (7)

With my Dreambook (an effective life-coaching tool), I have made simple steps toward achieving those three. For instance, to fulfill my “health-related” goal, I have subscribed myself to a one-year membership at Fitness First last November. I work out at the gym three times a week after office hours. I also regularly attend group classes such as Zumba, Body Jam, Retro Pop, and Yoga to feel stronger physically and mentally. Fitness really means a lot to me since being fit is about maximizing my potential.

To fulfill my “family-related” goal, we have planned different trips throughout the year to spend more time together without talking or thinking much about work. We also have staycations in local hotels to appreciate each other’s company while still being at the comfort of home. Busyness may keep creeping in, but I’m fighting the current, struggling for the balance, so I may know, meet, and be with the people who really matter.

In terms of career, I was very blessed to have been promoted to a more senior position in the company. Though the expansion of my personal business plans is still in the works, I believe that with the help of God, it will be done. As Joel Osteen puts it, “When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance.” Oh yes. Amen!

If you would like to be inspired and need help in achieving your dreams, here’s the good news:

There will be another interactive workshop next month where you can make your first step in turning your dreams to reality. πŸ™‚ Join many other dreamers on May 2, 2015, 2:00PM to 5:00PM, at the U-View Room, Basement, Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street and attend the Move Your Dreams Forward workshop for free.

To be facilitated by Coach Claude Sta. Clara, the interactive workshop will include dream board making and goal planning. Coach Claude has been coaching and facilitating for over 20+ years, and he’s internationally certified as a Meta-Coach and a Neuro-Semantics/Neuro-Linguistic Programming Trainer. He is part-owner of Organizational Change Consultants International and Mind Pool. While you’re there, it’s a great idea to get a Dreambook for yourself for only PhP 880. πŸ™‚

On the same day, you will be given materials to aid you with thought-provoking and clarifying exercises, playful exploration, and creative self-expression. This is your chance to get clear on what you want to do in life and liberate yourself from limitations and self-doubt. Your dream board will serve as a roadmap to make your dreams happen! πŸ™‚

Setting goals and dreams is a good way of coaxing out of your comfort zone. It’s like a process of making checkpoints along the way to get to your desired end result. Drawing a board can be fun as you get to discover what you really want. πŸ™‚

This sounds great. I love the idea, I have lots of dreams – mostly blog and family related. I need to focus on but I don’t have the time to just sit down and focus on what I really need to be doing. Hopefully soon. This looks great, I will have to check it out!

It’s great that you have a clear idea of your focus: family and blog-related. The next step is to keep being inspired to drive to that direction of success. Think of some seriously thought-provoking questions that can help you fulfill your life purpose. πŸ™‚

It is such a smart idea to make your dream a reality. Breaking a dream down into small and more manageable and measurable steps is such a great way to achieve it. Thanks for sharing this great resource and good luck in all of your endeavors!

You’re welcome, Amanda. This one-day event is very engaging because there you will likely find more areas you will like to spend time on than you initially thought. Thankfully, we can have baby steps or simple actions that aren’t too overwhelming or difficult just to get us the momentum we need.

This sounds like a great program to get to attend! I love to write down my dreams it seems to make them more realistic then just thinking them. I think it’s awesome you committed to a year at your gym!

Yup, with the help of my mom who encouraged me to get the gym subscription/membership, I am now more propelled to value fitness. πŸ˜› In the process, I am also learning to get the most from my body’s strength. I have observed that my level of physical activity plus the food I eat have massive effects on my energy.

Move Your Dreams Forward sounds like a great initiative, as I fully believe that any support and guidance that’s offered as to how to best achieve your life goals (and thus, lead a more fulfilling and happy life) is invaluable. I like your three top goals. I think mine would run along similar lines. Physical health balances mental and emotional health… Family and work balance is penultimate (and I’m always wishing I could reduce stress and increase enjoyment)… and I hope to have my own profitable business someday! I have my LLC, but… I still need my day job. πŸ™‚ Good luck with your goals!

These three goals do not necessarily apply to everyone but to most people I guess they do. Dreams don’t happen all at once but through countless tiny steps forward. This workshop to be led by Coach Claude can help dreamers build the framework, weave their life to it, and experience the difference. πŸ™‚ Thanks, Lauriel!

Spending time with your loved ones while you can is very important. Sadly, many people realize that only when it’s too late. My family is my happiness so I am making sure that I get to enjoy their company every day.

It’s always great to dream, even better when you write it down and work hard make it a goal instead of just a dream. Hmmm lemme think, if i were to have a list of dreams like yours the first one would be exactly the same, the second one is to have more intimate trio (just me, my husband and son) trips and the third to make a career as a blogger!

Oh, there’s no better place to start than keeping yourself healthy and well then making time to spend and be your best with your family (husband and kids). Leading a happy life and maintaining happiness and fulfillment go hand in hand with aspiring to continue learning and growing. It’s great to hear that you know exactly what you want for your career. πŸ™‚

You can pass a rain check this time and go give yourself a good rest after the trip. Meanwhile, you can create a personalized road by setting a stretch, immediate, and intermediate goals at home. If there’s time, maybe you can check out the Dreambook available in bookstores to help with the planning. πŸ™‚

Yeah, I remember this, if I am not mistaken you have shared about this dreambook before in this blog. I have a dream notebook but it’s cheap and it’s just an ordinary notebook. I believe that one must write his or her dreams and goals in life and always check it out. This is a good workshop you attended.

Yeah, one thing I appreciate about having a Dreambook is that making dreams come true isn’t too easy as anybody thinks. Creating a roadmap with steps outlined is a more realistic way to handle what’s going on and help you become and feel more prepared to achieve aspirations.
