Online shopping is not a new thing to anyone anymore, and it has never been this easy. A few clicks and we’re done, with hardly stress involved. Purchased items from local sellers get to be delivered straight to our doorstep in a few days.

Along with this convenience, we can free up our precious time in going to physical stores to check for the item’s description, compare prices by visiting rack after rack and store after store, find other colors or sizes of the same item, know which store branch has new stocks, figure out which ones are the new arrivals, etc.

Don’t get me wrong though. I enjoy both online shopping and going out into the jam-packed real world to window-shop. There are really just times when I prefer visiting e-stores to see what they have to offer, once in a while. Lately, I have been finding myself quite obsessed with Lamido.

Launched in January 2014, Lamido Philippines is considered as one of the newest entrants in the Philippine online marketplace. Via Lamido, you can buy and sell items ranging from fashion, electronics, books, unique collectible and more. In each transaction, you can deal with people from your city and from all over the country.

6 Reasons Why Lamido Philippines is a Hit to Filipinos

1. Easy Buy and Sell with Best Prices

If you have not tried to visit Lamido yet, I suggest that you do that now. Open this link here and discover how the Lamido online marketplace offers buyers items (both used or new) with the best prices. By best, I mean most reasonable. Start comparing prices of items with those posted on olx and you might be surprised how almost everything at Lamido is priced seemingly at a discount.

2. Free to Run Your Own Business and Make Money

Lamido allows users to promote and advertise products and sell them directly to customers by fixed, discounted or auctioned prices. Sellers can organize payment and shipping of the merchandise as they wish.

Suddenly I remember the Multiply Marketplace which died down a few years back. Well, we got Lamido now and everyone can be a merchant for free. There is no listing fee: you don’t pay anything until you close a deal. Registration steps to be a seller are easy to follow as well.

3. Safe and Worry-free Transactions

The Lamido website has a well organized layout, so navigation through item categories is easy. There are also multiple filters to aid you in finding and comparing the best deals. Moreover, users have the options to choose where and when they want the items to be delivered while safe and secure. How so? Lamido has this feature called “Lamido Safepay.”

With it, buyers can deposit the payment for the items they bought via bank transfer (to Lamido’s bank account) or cash on delivery. Once the payment is confirmed, Lamido will only release the payment to the sellers when the buyer receives the ordered items, which should be in perfect working condition. If the buyer is not satisfied, returning of items is acceptable.

4. Dedicated Help Desk

It’s often frustrating when nobody hears out customer complaints and feedback. It’s great that Lamido has thought of working on customer service as it has a team that’s dedicated to attend to buyer complaints. This is what they call the “Buyer Protection Scheme,” which I think everyone will be (hopefully) happy about. Whenever a complaint with a seller is opened, the Order Fulfillment team sends a warning to the sellers to ship out orders or they will hide their listings from the Lamido.com. ph website.

5. Unusual, Usable Products

The success of Etsy, Ebay, Amazon and Snapdeal, to name a few, can be attributed to the fact that there’s not a lot of sites where you can find unique or unusual products penetrating the online marketplace. These e-stores compete on individuality, aesthetics and the type and variety of products that are available.

This is where Lamido and these mentioned sites are similar, I think. What’s noteworthy is that you can look for “hard-to-find” items in just one big site. Lamido’s brand and reputation for quality will drive the demand.

6. Mobile Shopping

For smartphone users, Lamido.com.ph is also available for browsing through your Android phone. The Lamido Android app was rolled out and officially launched last July 17, 2014. With this application, you can do online shopping on-the-go. You can also check out the detailed product information and images on the app.

This is so great for small businesses. I find that lately I am solely buying everything online. I can’t remember the last time I was in a physical store!

Whoa. I can imagine how busy you are (or just caught up with so many errands either at home, at work or both)! For myself, I am still much of a balanced shopper visiting online and physical shops.

Yeah. This online marketplace is very unlike the traditional ones whereby the sellers keep receiving haggling requests or questions where to meet up. Lamido saves these hassles as it ships items and then sets the prices as fixed.

That’s no joke. Some people really have no time to visit stores and all they can do is surf online for great purchases. We’re lucky that we’re living in this generation where online shops that are reliable and has good service exist.

Thanks for sharing. This seems cool. I hope they do have plans for the US because I would check it out. It sounds like an Amazon and Craigslist wrapped up in one.

As I was reading through I was thinking that Lamido sounded a good deal like Etsy, glad you mentioned the similarity. Sounds like a great shopping platform.

Yeah. But apart from Etsy and other sites, one advantage of buying goods from Lamido is the cash-on-delivery which gives the liberty to the buyer to inspect the item delivered first before paying by cash. Plus, the buyer can return the item right away if found defective or not acceptable.

Yup, you’re welcome! I have to add: Lamido has the Trusted Seller Label to allow buyers to view the credibility rating of the seller. With this feature, buyers will be able to determine who are the trusted sellers via the sellers information and rating located at the correct side of the item for sale.

Right. Glad that you have that emphasized. Only orders from confirmed buyers will be processed through cash on delivery (COD) options and those who already paid via bank transfer. In short, no more bogus buyers! πŸ˜€

You’ve noticed as well! What differentiates between the two is that the scale of these sellers. Big sellers touting the newest products would set up shop on Lazada, while small and medium-sized sellers fit better on Lamido.

I sometimes think of the businesses that are unique that have gotten so big and ebay always comes to mind. That was a good idea. The other ones you listed are good examples too.

Sounds like a great site! I love online shopping, especially when schedules are so hectic that the only time I have to shop is when the stores are closed.

Right. The good thing about online shops now is that there’s no closing time. Once you confirm items in the virtual shopping cart and finalize your order, you just have to wait a few days before the products are delivered to your home.

I think the best is to ask the seller by contacting him/her. There’s also the product description and some testimonials about the seller that you can trust. When all else fail, you can always go to Lamido helpdesk services for help.

nope… the site wasn’t as good as its competitors because some merchants were not complying with Lazada’s regulations. That’s why the site has been taken down already and you’ll be directed to Lazada instead.
