WeChat made its touchdown in the Philippines last 2013, and the the concept of social media apps for seamless communication has been reinforced to Filipinos.

Brand ambassadors Drew Arellano and Iya Villania starred in a series of television commercials then to show how seamless the social mobile apps fits into our local lifestyles. Indeed, the use of these mobile apps provide more convenience as they allow users to stay connected despite busy schedules. Specifically in WeChat, this is done via “Video Call,” “Hold to Talk,” and “Moments.”

Yeah, mobile apps now allow free social communications via online. Plus, all the elements are free. This may be one of the reasons that explain why WeChat is exploding in popularity overseas and now locally in the Philippines.

The product is not new. The average user might only use WeChat as they do Facebook. They can keep in contact with friends and family, share moments in their life and make new friends. But WeChat is so much more than this.

Actually, I’ve been using WeChat for two years now so it’s not something that I consider new. I think only the more tech savvy people are inclined to install and try out apps available in the app market whether they know about it or just want to experiment hehe.

Definitely, WeChat will be useful for you to lessen communication costs. Within WeChat, you can also follow public accounts that will periodically send you information. These accounts can be companies, brands, bars, nightclubs, hotels or publications. 😀
