I’m not a celebrity but receiving over 650 likes for a picture I posted on Instagram recently made me feel like oneβeven just for a day. π It was a selfie photo of me lying on a dentist-like chair in Browhaus, Lucky Chinatown Mall, while the beauty attendant was fixing my brows for the final look. In this post, let me share about my Browgraphy experience at Browhaus Manila. Will I come back for another session? Do I recommend it? You will know later.
Browhaus Brow Construction: Browgraphy
Prior to having the procedure done, my eyebrows were not really too crazy or unruly. My mom volunteers every so often to shave them for neat arches, like a gardener clipping a topiary, because I can’t do it by myself. Lately though, I felt like wanting to update my eyebrows’ shape and color (to match my hair color). In my world, this task is nebulousβsomething that should be left to the experts to be safe.
I chose Browhaus Manila to take care of my brows as they are known as the “global authority in hair removal” and they take business seriously. Browhaus operates in several branches in the Philippines for six years now, and they offer the expertise to transform a person’s look by grooming their brows.
Besides Philippines and Singapore (their base), they also have expanded to branches in London, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand. Their aestheticians in Manila are trained in Singapore in two to six months before they are considered qualified. With all these reasons, it didn’t take long for me to be convinced to try at least one of their services.
Browhaus promotes the Brow Resurrection (PhP 38,000) most, claiming that this will make a renewed set of defined and beautiful eyebrows to one who doesn’t have full brows and also improve anyone’s unkempt pair almost magically. More than Brow Resurrection, Browgraphy (PhP 1,298) took my attention because it’s way cheaper and looked less painful.
Browgraphy is a combined service consisting of shaping the eyebrows (via threading and tweezing) and color tweaking. Basically, it’s a duo which works to rework the brows to perfection.
For threading, I have learned that Browhaus uses a fine cotton thread that’s meant for the skin. Typical eyebrow threading doesn’t traumatize the skin the way waxing does. It removes stray hair strands in a row resulting in a clean and natural-looking brow line. Thus, for people who have sensitive skin like me and those disenchanted with waxing, this specialty process is a better option.
My Browgraphy Experience at Browhaus (Lucky Chinatown Mall, Binondo)
I made a reservation a day before for the Browgraphy service. The receptionist asked if I have had my eyebrows dyed and experienced threading before, to which I replied no’s to both. I don’t know if saying yes would make any difference to the steps and formula they will apply. Moving on…
I was led to a reclining chair and the beautician started studying my eyebrows. She asked me to choose among dark brown, medium brown and light brown for the brow color tweak. Lighter brows have a softening effect, while darker brows sharpen features and add definition. I went for the medium brown.
She applied the vegetable-based dye which contained light chemicals (not the same as the one we use to color our hair). The skin around the eye area is more sensitive, and this house product is intended for coloring the eyebrows. It made me look like the female version of Mr. Clean minus the mustache! See?
After 15 minutes, the beautician checked if the “medium brown” color I chose had already taken effect. By that time, I felt a bit of tingling sensation, but it was tolerable. I looked to the mirror and thought that my brows were not still brown enough to call it “medium brown.” We allowed another five minutes to pass until she removed the dye.
Next, she showed me a piece of paper with illustrations of shapes of eyebrows and asked me to choose one. I was clueless and needed some help as well with the selection. In the end, her recommendation was what I regarded as best advice: fourth row, last column.
She proceeded to shape my tinted eyebrows by threading the immediate area, quickly removing the fine hairs. For remaining hair which could not be removed by the thread, tweezers were used; and finally, scissors to trim individual hairs.
The last steps of my Browgraphy treatment were the application of soothing cream to minimize redness and avoid irritation and the filling up of my brows with brown powder. I was advised not to wash my eyebrows water for the next five hours.
So, how was it?
Of hair removal techniques, many believe that threading causes the least discomfort, if any discomfort at all. Eyebrow threading by Browhaus was not painless, but it was quick and straightforward. It actually felt like tiny rubber bands snapping my skin one after another. I said ouch a couple of times and almost jumped off the seat. The staff said it’s normal for me to feel that way since it was my first time. π―
I’m just glad I’ve survived the 30-minute treatment without shedding tears to look more fashionable. π The result was satisfying but not drastic as I expected. Anyway, itβs the little things that add up. This is the finishedΒ #nofilter look:
Browhaus provided me with a survey sheet which asks customers to rate the elements of the service they rendered and the totality of experience with them from 1-5. Three questions were open-ended. I didn’t have enough time to write my answers on paper since I was rushing to attend a family gathering. I wrote my blog’s URL for them to check and see my answers. And here they are, as follows:
Q & A
Will I come back for another session? I most probably would not want to come back for another Browgraphy session again. This is because I don’t think that there’s high value for money. The two-in-one solution of coloring and threading my brows does not seem worth the price of PhP 1298 to pay, given that the color is expected to last for two to four weeks only. I can go to other salons to groom my eyebrows and achieve a good brow balance via threading at a much cheaper rate.
Do I recommend it? Yes, I recommend this treatment, especially if you do not know how to shape your eyebrows on your own and you want to dye your brows with maximum comfort and safety for your skin.Β Having a well-maintained eyebrows can make you look younger by brightening and increasing the intensity of your eyes. Browhaus professionals are nice and you will feel rest assured that they will take care of your brow woes the right way the first time and every time.
What improvements do I suggest to Browhaus? Browhaus Manila has a modern studio that welcomes customers with a friendly and clean environment. They have proper threading furniture and sanitized tools. They follow a standard process that’s aligned with their base in Singapore. They are the experts in styling and grooming the eyebrows. Hence, I can’t anymore think of any improvement with regard to their work and performance.
But if I were to suggest an “outside of the box” improvement, I’d like to propose something related to innovation. π I would like them to have an optional personalized service of taking a before-photo of the customer, uploading it to the computer, running a system which can analyze based on the facial shape, skin color, hair color and the rest of facial features and then generating a suggested outcome of the eyebrows automatically.
In addition, it will be good if there is also the facility to allow the user to manually mix and match eyebrow shapes, colors, thickness and styles for them to see how the result would look like. This will give better appreciation and excitement in looking forward to the result.
If these can be part of the free consultation service of Browhaus, then I think they can gain more power in turning prospects or leads to actual customers. To extend the plan for improvement further, Browhaus can also develop the application and allow everyone access it via web and/or mobile apps anytime and anywhere! π

I won a prize from giveaway, and Browhaus treatment’s the prize in Greenbelt. But, I didn’t grt it cause it’s for ladies. My wife do not like it, so, it’s finish. At least you’ll try this at Browhaus.
Ohh sayang! Yup, I was just curious on how well I could tolerate the pain here. Also, I wanted to know how I’d look like when my eyebrows are tinted in lighter color. π
I’ve never been one to trim or colour my brows (thank goodness, they’re not too unruly) but this is good post for those seeking a recommendation for a place to groom their brows. Technology will definitely help with the selection of colours and shapes just like how some hair salons have done.
Oh really? I guessed I wasn’t the only one! π If ever you want to try eyebrow grooming, I suggest threading over waxing but make sure to go to reliable experts who can produce a great result for your facial shape. As for the technical suggestion, I haven’t encountered any place doing that. Hmmm that should be fair and easy to do. There are lots of mobile apps in AppStore which outlines the process already.
Your new look seems good naman because it emphasize your chinita eyes. Beautiful new look for events and occasions.
Thanks, Fernando. As I recalled, the staff said that they also have male customers. If you feel like trying this, you are also free to do so! π #YOLO
Hello good afternoon.. Can I ask if how much is it..and is it permanent or only adays or weeks thank you god bless..
Beautiful eyes and eyebrowns :)is it painful?
Thanks, Janice! Yes, a bit painful but the pain easily goes away right after the procedure. It’s a great feeling to have overcome it once.
This is the first time that I am hearing about browgraphy! WoW.. beauty treatments are becoming so specialised..A salon specifically for eyebrow shaping… loving the concept.
Haah yeah. I actually have met Browhaus for the first time when I was still living in Singapore. I accompanied my aunt back then for the Brow Ressurection she tried. This concept is not entirely new.
very cool! I’d love to have that done … wanted to pin, but no pin link
Haha thanks, Cindy. Sorry, I don’t have Pinterest on my blog. π
That does sound like a great experience! And how cool to get 650 likes on an instagram picture- I would definitely love that as well! Glad the threading worked out well for you.
It was overwhelming. That time, I just turned off my wi-fi on the phone because notifications kept on popping up at the top of my iPhone screen. It feels great that users who may have found the photo via the hash tags have expressed appreciation by hitting the Like button. Yeah, threading was okay. π
This is a very thoughtful and well written review. I don’t really pay much attention to my brows these days. If I’m heading to a conference or something I’ll get them waxed. It’s fast and easy
I see. I haven’t tried eyebrow waxing before. I thought it’s faster to have them just shaved and trimmed–but there’s the possibility of ingrown hairs that will look weird.
What a great experience! Ladies need to take the time to treat themselves and enjoy being pampered..
True. This is not only to impress guys but feel more presentable when facing other people. Having a neat pair of eyebrows will also define your face more. π I would definitely this recommend to anyone who’s ever been skeptical of threading.
WOW that is a lot of likes! I’ve never done this and had a feeling it would not feel fun! The turn out looks great.
I have had experienced underarm threading before and it was not painful at all. The skin around the eye area is much more sensitive to pain and maybe this is why I felt it. It didn’t feel fun the whole time I was lying on their chair, but I was satisfied with the result. So it was a good experience overall.
Very interesting, I’ve never seen this done before. The results look nice, even if you wouldn’t go back
My eyebrows look great. The pain wasn’t too bad. It went by fast so it’s cool.
I have only done eyebrow in my life 2-3 times. threading is more appealing on the woman than man. π
My brows have never looked more perfect, thanks to Browhaus. If you want to try the same service, my tip for you is to book for a reservation first to make sure that someone will be there to attend. Another is to come here in the morning so the staff won’t be so busy with other customers.
I had my brows threaded once. That was the last time I will do that. I thought it was much more painful than wax.
Haha. The feeling while threading isn’t exactly one I’d like to replicate and feel once again as well. This is one of the times when you get to realize that it’s so hard to be a girl!
Wow I’ve never got something like this done to me before!
It’s to good to try it so you’ll know how grooming your eyebrows via Browgraphy can make you look even more beautiful. π
I so need to get my brows done, they are out of control and my tweezers can’t keep up. lol Too bad there isn’t a cool choice like this for me to visit.
Awww if ever you drop by near this area, go ahead and get this service done. It’s amazing how clean, trimmed brows can make a person feel like a super star! π
This looks interesting and I have heard of the threading but never know what it was. I love this and thanks for sharing.
I had been meaning to get my eyebrows try Browgraphy for a month but I was constantly scared off by mixed reviews and heft price tags. Finally, I did it last Sunday! Yup, it’s interesting how the thread can remove stray hair.
What a great review. You look fantastic. I wouldn’t mind having this done.
Thanks, Catherine. Met me assure you that you don’t have to fear anything if you decide to go to Browhaus for Browgraphy. π
This looks like a very relaxing day.
Haha it was not relaxing as a massage service.
Thanks for this post. I am thinking of doing session with Browhaus soon! π
Yay! You’re welcome, Eva. I hope you’d also like the result on you. π
Wow! I have gotten threading done before but didnt notice a big difference. THis is much more intense- I would give this a shot!
Oh! I’ll take your comment as a compliment so thanks. π If you’re not blessed with perfectly shaped brows, let Browhaus do its job and work to create an attractive and natural look.
I love the comparison to Mr. Clean! Congrats on a successful photo and keep up the great work!
Thanks, Famigami! π
I’ve always wanted to have a brows makeover but I think the amount you paid is too high.
Sis, I think your brows already looks nice even before pa.
Haha yeah. My mom says that she’s having her eyebrows thread at a local parlor for only PhP 30! Maybe the difference lies on the thread they use and also the facilities. Thanks, Cha! π
This looks painful! But it looks awesome after
Yes, it was painful but I’m reaping the reward after. π
That sounds like a fun place to get your eyebrows done. I love that they show you pictures of different styles and you get to pick.
Yes, that helps especially for those who don’t have any idea what type of brow shape and arch would look ideal and nice.
Quite expensive. But I guess if you’re looking for professionals to do the work, it would be worth it.
Truelaloo! It was a solid experience overall.
A very honest review. Me was so surprised na very expensive pala nitong Browgraphy. Kahit hindi ako girl, I know naman some beauty stuff since my wife is so keen on keeping her beauty check. But honestly, 5 times pa lang ata siyang nagpa-ayos ng brows nya. She will definitely say no to this brow procedure kung yan ang price. Barat yun eh.
Haha a very honest comment. π I’m not surprised na they have high prices kasi the company is from Singapore. From what I heard, the staffs here have to be certified before they can perform on actual clients. Well, that’s what I had to pay for to acquire such good service and it didn’t fail me anyway so it was fair.
Revisiting. you look nice naman with you’re new brows. Just wondering, is it a must ba, that your hair color matches that of your brows color?
Thank you for that wonderful question.
For me, it is a must because I look at brows as an extension of my hair. Imagine having black hair and blonde eyebrows. For sure, the “disconnect” will look odd. Finding the ideal hair and brow color combination and discovering the right match can be tricky. Having matching colors will help revolutionize your look. π
OMG! It’s too expensive to have a nice-looking brow but I must agree with you that properly shaped eyebrows truly enhance a woman’s beauty.
The price is expensive but it’s okay to try at least once. π Well-groomed and shaped eyebrow makes a tremendous difference in oneβs appearance. It should not be overlooked.
You’re pretty enough not to have brow treatment especially if it’s too expensive.
Thanks, Franc! It’s costly and is a vain indulgence in my opinion but not exactly a waste of money. It’s still better than not trying at all. I’d rather know how it will look like and how it would feel like while being operated on than forever stay curious and wonder about those things. π
I think this would be more apt to those who don’t have good eyebrows. It would make them look better.
Yeah, they must fix their brows to look more presentable. π
You look very pretty. I am always scared of doing things like that but really should someday.
Thanks, Bonnie. I hope you find the courage soon. π
Looks like an interesting experience. I don’t have the patience for pedicures, so I know I would never have the patience to get my eyebrows done!
Haha oh my gosh, you’re the exact opposite of my mom. She treats these beauty sessions as her relaxing escapades away from responsibilities at home and at work. π
Thank you for sharing the review of BrowHaus ^_^ I’m gonna try it soon in BrowHaus Jakarta..
http://beautyasti1.blogspot.com
Nice. π Blog about it, too! I’m sure your readers will want to read about your experience as well.
I actually LOVE Browhaus! I went there twice to get my eyebrow shaped and always love the results. Last time i also got my upper lip threading and now i cannot stand a strand of hair peeking on my upper lips! Too bad we do not have a branch in our city so i could only go there when we go to Jakarta. And i’m fairly annoyed that they wouldn’t let me take pictures so i can’t make a proper review (but i will make a review anyway) of the treatment. Upper lip threading was quite painful and i almost shed a tear :p
Shucks! I’m super glad that I don’t have unwanted hair on my upper lip area, else I would also be lining up to get them threaded. My mom took pictures of me during the session. It’s great that I had her as company.
haven’t tried this place yet but i have tried threading before for a couple of times there is a bit of tingling sensation but carry on! your eyebrows looks like perfect!
Thanks, Jane! Now it takes me less time to fix my brows in the morning. I just need to fill it up with brown powder and follow the shape, that’s all. π
Your brows look amazing! I have never tried anything aside from tweezers to pluck a few straw hairs from around my brows.
Thanks, Melissa! I haven’t tried plucking or tweezing my own brows because I’m afraid to over-pluck or over-tweeze. I know that hair would grow back but still..damage is scary!
Saying Hi from Singapore! It’s very truthful of you to say that you won’t want to visit the place again (but yet you recommend them?) Haha, I have yet to try Browhaus myself though, hope you like the newly-shaped eyebrows!
Haha hello! Yeah there are things that I do recommend for others to try ’cause I want them to also experience and have their own opinion. It was good but expensive, especially if to be done as a regular routine–that’s my problem. π
I had no idea people went into such depth when it came to getting your eyebrows done. I just looked at mine in the mirror and realized my brows need some serious help. I will look into a store like this in my city. Thanks π
Hope you find a good eyebrow professional stylist in your area soon. π
You may not be a celebrity but you may look like one from your IG photo, hahaha, that could be the reason why hitting the 600+ likes :p anyway, when I had my threading, I literally cry hahaha. Tiis ganda to the extreme! Yes, I agree. What u had is quite pricey.
Haha thanks, Jam! Awww tama, tiis ganda talaga. Next time I want to try Hey Sugar. It’s also in Lucky Chinatown Mall, 3rd floor, I think. They offer threading services that are cheaper.
I like that so many different styles are shown. I bet it feels like some really great pampering to get them done. π
You mentioned pampering. I wish there’s like massage involved in the process but none. The real gain here is after the procedure and not during. π
A lot of girls go to beauty salons to have their eyebrows trimmed here. I personally have naturally shaped eyebrows and would not go to such procedures but I also recommend it for some girls who have bushy eyebrows and are ignorant about their treatment. Your eyebrows look naturally pretty.
Thanks, Vanessa. π I don’t have bushy eyebrows. Mine’s neither thin or thick and I’m happy that I don’t necessarily have to undergo such. But curiosity has got me wanting to try! So there..also, it feels good to be able to share so that others would have an idea on how it goes at Browhaus.
I’ve always wanted to get my eyebrows threaded! Yours look great π
Thanks, Chrissy! Expect that it will be painful but I know you’re strong and brave. You’ll be able to survive through threading. π
Though I would like try this myself, I probably wouldn’t return often because the price for the service is bit high for me.
Yes, that’s just being practical.
Your brows look fabulous! Too bad this place is so expensive π
Yeah. You can probably be convinced to try it when you’re days from attending a special event and want to look glamorous and beautiful with groomed eyebrows. π
I have always wanted to have my eyebrows threaded. They make it look so easy and great.
Yeah. The good thing about it is that it’s quick, does not cause swelling and does not tear up the skin.
WOW. what a fancy looking place!
I think the place is a bit cramped and the reception area should be expanded to accommodate more waiting customers. There are stools provided for only two people to sit. Others would have to stroll around the mall or wait until it’s finally their turn. Interior design is neat and simple.
Sadly, I am no where near enough to have my eyebrows done there. But, I do want to try threading soon! I can’t stand waxing.
I haven’t tried waxing the eyebrows but I can imagine how painful it would be. Awww. π
Hi! I love your brows and I’m actually planning to visit the Lucky Chinatown branch. Can you still remember who your Brow Architect was? Because her work on your brows is sooooo splendid! π
Thanks, Kat! Her name is Olive. π I would love to see the result on your brows!
First off, you have fantastic skin and the finished job really adds to the glow of your face. We have Billion Dollar brows here in the US and while I liked going to one, like you, I felt the price for value was steep. Threading is VERY painful and after a few tries, I gave up on it. Some of us just don’t like enduring pain for beauty’s sake.
Thanks, Eliz! What you said about threading is true. Some people can’t stand the pain so probably they stick with shaving instead. Plucking, tweezing and waxing aren’t painless all the same.
I think it would be very famous if they open a shop here in Malaysia
Yes, I think women in Malaysia also deserve to have their brows fixed by Browhaus. During my visit there, I actually have not seen any beauty center which specializes in the same thing.
Wahoo it just a great post. xxx Its very interesting post. I can see great difference
Thanks, Hina. π
For caring for my brows – browhaus will always be my go-to place to be!
Oh wow. You have great brows, Aisha. Always neat and good-looking. π
Thats such an amazing way to get a pretty decent eyebrows who dnt have fuller eyebrows. I am glad I have fuller eyebrows π
You’re blessed with it. π
Nice experience sis, at least you know now the difference of having the correct physique for your brow. Maintain it!
Yeah, that’s my point exactly. π Thanks, Pal Raine!
I’m afraid of fixing my eyebrows because I know it hurts. But with your review about Browhaus, I’m thinking of getting their service.
Hehe go ahead and try! Hurting is inevitable I guess but it will only take a few minutes.
At least you need not trim your brow now and then. I just shave my brows myself and I do it like every other day.
Whoa I didn’t know that eyebrow shaving has to be done that frequently. Or … this just shows that I didn’t care much about mine. π
I got a Browhaus voucher from BDJ Box but wasn’t able to use it because there is no branch near us. But even if there is, I don’t think I’ll use it din. I am not a fan of shaping eyebrows kasi. :p
I agree that the price is way too high for threading and coloring only. There are others who offer the same services at a lower price.
Last time I went to the BDJ fair and saw Browhaus having one of the stalls. I didn’t bother to have my eyebrows groomed even if it was for free because I just didn’t care. My mom tried the service though and was happy about it. The prices at this establishment are all quite high. Then again, one won’t come out regretful.
Brow shape is so important to facial balance and overall beauty.
Right. That’s why I am also encouraging my sister to have her brows threaded and fixed. π
First time i’ve heard of a eyebrow threading. I love how the results go.
Nice. Try it out yourself some time. π
Nice – I’ve never tried that threading thing before, I either pluck my eyebrows or shave them when I’m too lazy. Of course, it might be a better choice if I left that to the professionals. I would really love for them to shape my brows. But…I don’t want to have to use eyebrow pencils, I don’t know how to use them, too. Hahaha!
Haha. It’s okay. I don’t also claim to be an expert at eyebrow filling as I have learned to do it only via watching video tutorials on YouTube. I have yet more to learn and more times to practice. π
They did really amazing work with your brows! I need to get mine done, too. LOL
Thanks, Joanna. π Go for it!
wow, you got so many likes and comments for using browhaus!
Yeah. Apparently, I also have a group of readers who are into beauty (and not only into food). π
ang tangos ng ilong mo. hehe. btw, i will put your link on my blog roll.. just started a food blog..different from my link here.
Hi Karen! Haha thanks. π I’d love to check that new food blog.

i realy like your blog. Since yung kilay ko pang bumbay ang kapal . But when i heard n pwd lighten the color i was excited to try it . Napansino ko lang yung color ng brows mo bec of pangcolor nila ? Kasi parang n fill up ng parang may nilagay n makeup.
Thanks, Quincy. Both actually – color ng tint and color ng powder na nilagay nila after the procedure. π
did you do the brows by yourself for the profile photo on the left of the page? hehe That looks much better than the browgraphy from Browhaus.
I did it myself with makeup. Thanks! π
