Review of Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen (Cainta, Rizal)

Many people rely on coffee and rich drinks to get them through the day. Thanks to Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen, residents and visitors of Village East Avenue, Executive Homes in Cainta, Rizal don’t have to worry about not getting their coffee fix, as they certainly can run steady on low-key, diverse delights and pastries with extensive options for coffee variants and other beverages—all for reasonable and affordable prices. 🙂

This cafe opened to the public on July 18, 2010. We recently shot a segment of an I Juander episode at its al fresco setting and tried some of its best-selling items on the menu. (Dishes to be featured in the show are not included in this review.)

Review of Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen – Cainta, Rizal

Ambiance: ★★★☆☆

While the I Juander Team was setting up outside, my dad and I entered the cafe for some refreshments. We were greeted by a whiff of heavenly freshly baked pastries and a seating area whose theme was quite rustic with vintage homemade touches. Free wi-fi connection is available. 🙂

Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen has a casual appeal that’s congenial, one that pairs perfectly with home-style cooking and warm, soothing drinks. However, I found that the tables with pink and yellow cloths placed at the center should better be rearranged to the side instead, to help lead the eyes to the more relaxing tone of the fixtures, walls, and decors.

Service: ★★★★☆

Staff helped in fostering a relaxing vibe as they were courteous and accommodating. If you want to explore other bites and drinks other than your norm, just ask what’s good and they will tell you straight answers.

Food: ★★★☆☆

When undecided, it’s always best to listen to the staff’s recommendations. We had their famous Cream Puff (PhP 68/piece) and drinks that felt like desserts more than beverages, namely Macadamia Frappe (PhP 88, Large) and Mocha Frappe (PhP 88, Large).

The filling of the Cream Puff tasted more custardy than eggy. Dusted by caramelized sugar, the flaky puff layers were crisp and distinct. I liked how each layer came together as a sharp contrast to the smooth cream for a well-balanced piece, be it in terms of taste or texture. It was a pleasantly decent mouthful of goodness that’s great with coffee.

Made from a mocha base that’s buzzed up with ice and maybe chocolate then topped with whipped cream, the Mocha Frappe delivered a sweet punch and packed with a semi-bitter taste. It was thick and creamy with smoothie-like consistency.

The Macadameia Frappe had a nutty flavor, more like nougat and sweet vanilla combined together. Also topped with cream, this frappucino was decadent, icy, and really nice. It’s recommended for those who have a lesser tolerance for the taste of burned coffee beans.

After the shoot, we were all hungry for dinner. It was good to know that Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen also serves many Asian and international favorites. We ordered hearty Filipino classic meals such as pancit, chop seuy, and sisig with rice. Above all, the stir-fried beef with broccoli stood out with its bold, sweet and savory sauce. I just hoped that there’s more garlic in the mix to amp up the flavor.

Price for Value: ★★★★☆

Right next door to the Village East Church, Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen is a popular local spot that’s deservedly so. The pleasant atmosphere suffusing the cozy dining room matches with a comfortable neighborhood feel that entices patrons to sit, eat, drink and chat for hours. With budget ranging from PhP 150 to PhP 200 per person for a good meal, food and drinks’ price for value are decent.

Hello and Wow — we do not know about this write up and was just accidentally seen it.
Thank you so much for this write up.
The tables in the middle was just temporary 🙂
At present it is now on the sides.
There are other improvements as well.
Our cream puff is priced P28/each.
The P68pesos is for 3 pcs bite size.

Thank you and hope to see you again here at Kopi Kopi.

The coffee shop has a nice ambience. That cream puff is mouthwatering. I love coffee, both hot and cold and I am curious about the Macadameia Frappe. It’s so nice that they also serve Asian food.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

To serve coffee drinks and Asian dishes is really quite interesting with the mixture of culture here. Fortunately, they work well to cater to more customers who would want to eat during lunch time and drink to pass time. 🙂

What a fun little cafe! I love the atmosphere. It is very warm and inviting. That cream puff looks delicious – and now I’m hungry for one! I love all of your photos – they are gorgeous and so crisp!

Thank you. This cafe feels like home too with the calmness its interior brings. A perfect place to dine, relax and bond with family and friends even with a tight budget! 🙂

Mmmm give me any Frappe and I’ll gladly drink it, but without milk as I’m lactose intolerant. Love that many coffee shops offer coconut or almond milk as a replacement. The cream puff looks delish! This cafe looks lovely.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Oh, that’s sad to know. Thanks to innovation and more discoveries that there are many alternatives to milk, cheese and such for you now. Alternatives sometimes taste even better because of their uniqueness. 😛

  5. Ronda Ogilvie Avatar

I agree about the bright colored tables in the center of the room. The food and beverages on the other hand look devine! Thank you for a great and honest review. I could almost smell the pastries through your writing!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Thanks, Ronda! The pink and yellow colors were quite a distraction for me considering the light ambiance in the restaurant. 😛 But I admit it was an effective way of catching the attention of visitors. 🙂

Wow, looks like a nice little place. My husband would be thrilled he is a huge coffee drinker so I’m sure this place would really appeal to him! I wont lie the first thing I thought of after reading all of this is how much I want to try that cream puff. haha. It looks so good. Looks like a lovely place to visit and grab a cup and a snack!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Well, no dish can beat my love for desserts (cream puff it is!) 😛 It’s really a commendable place to chill where you could eat your lunch and stay until afternoon while chatting with good friends and nice coffee.

  7. Tiaras & Tantrums Avatar

All your images of the food look so delicious.

Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen looks like a perfect spot for me. I adore anything with a coffee bean in it. The more frothy and creamy – the better!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Thanks! I love froths as well! They take me back to a fun childhood memory where everything felt so light. But thinking about the calories I’d gain today, control shall become my best buddy. Haha 😛

OH GEEZ CREAM PUFF!!! Thanks a lot Roch.. now IM craving!! ARGHHHHH!!!!! Kainis ka hahahahaha!!! Budget wise, I think its pretty good na 😀

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

And you’re very welcome! :)) It’s very affordable considering the taste they have. They even look quite pricey with the mason jar container of the drinks but thank goodness, they’re not. Downside is the calories that would be gained after drinking a lot for their affordable price. Wahaha

  9. Nichole Arnold Avatar

Great review! I confess I want to dive head first in to all the food. The cream puff looks sinful as do the coffee drinks. I would be a total glutton to try out the flavors. From the photos that pink and yellow certainly do stand out in an odd way!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Haha! Yes, in a very odd and effective way to gain the attention of customers. Well, it would be a wonder for those who wouldn’t feel the same way for desserts and chilling drinks like these. 🙂

  10. Stephanie Pass Avatar

i love to find independent coffee houses like this. That cream puff looks fantastic and your description sounds heavenly. My kids love cold coffe drinks like frappes. I tend to stick with a hit caramel macchiato. Looks like a great place!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

I agree! They may be small but they surprisingly always have something special that still make them a favorite hangout destination for some. The crowd is also lesser that’s great for those who want to chill and fill their tummies with good food.

  11. joy Avatar

it’s a nice place for coffee drinkers inside the village, a place where village friends can hang out 🙂

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Absolutely! And after chatting for a while, you may also order some food to start your dinner. 😛

  12. Jenny Avatar

I swear you always eat at the most amazing restaurants! All of that food looks absolutely amazing. We try to go with chef recommendations when we go to new restaurants, most the time it is spot on for us.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

That’s great! It would be too bad if the chef’s recommendations are still not good enough for the customers. 😛

  13. emiliana Avatar

I’m a fan of Macademia Frappe. I try it out at the Kopi Kopi Café and Kitchen with the cream puff.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Hope you try it soon! It’s a great refreshment to fight the summer heat. 🙂

  14. Gil Camporazo Avatar

There are times that you don’t know what to order for you’re too engrossed for the foods and products offered are too yummy and to tasty. So what you did is polite and courteous way or respect to ask the recommendation of the staff for sure they know what is best and what is suited for your taste if you tell them honestly. Anyway, I am not a coffee drinker. What I like from this is Chop Suey, my fave Chinese dish. I love eating those crispy veggies.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Yup, especially when we’re already too hungry to still browse through the list of dishes in the menu. This is also why menus that show which dishes are the chef’s recommendations or best-sellers are much preferred to help customers decide on what to order. And in a way, the restaurant may get known for the dishes they’re proud of. 🙂

  15. Fernando Lachica Avatar

Cafe shops are very conducive to every Filipinos and majority preferred these beverages. More product lines are on the menu, and desserts too. Nice place indeed!

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Yup, food and drinks here are offered with consideration of the Filipino taste, demands, and their needs. As most of us love inexpensive stuff and promos, Kopi Kopi is a sure winner with its affordable price too. 🙂

  16. Franc Ramon Avatar

The cream puff looks so tasty. My mouth waters just seeing it from my computer. I love the comfy feel here too.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Oh yes, it was heavenly. If only it was near our home, I’d definitely often go back here. 🙂

  17. Dina Avatar

What a nice review. This looks like a place I’d love to visit and chat with friends. I’m adding this to my bucket list.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Thanks, Dina! Hope you also enjoy your dining experience here like I did. 😀

  18. Nancy Avatar

I love trying out new cafes, tea houses, and restaurants. Especially now that I’m brand new to this country of good ol’ USA. The cafe you went to looked really warm and inviting, I am kinda craving a cream puff now because of you 😉

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Hehe 😀 Wow, I bet it’s going to be a whole year (and more years to come) of exciting food adventures for you! Hope you could find your favorite dining place soon. 😀

  19. jojo vito Avatar

nice casual ambiance….and the cream puff appeared to delectable in your photos 🙂

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

This cafe looks humble but the taste of their dishes, especially the drinks are unexpectedly good for their price. Hope you could try it soon! 🙂

  20. Louise Avatar

The ambiance is very simple and ordinary (in a good way!). I love how comfortable the place looks. The price range is very decent indeed since most of the coffee shops now offer meals more than 250 pesos. Maybe I could visit them when I go to Rizal. 🙂

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

The drinks are also affordable compared to other cafes and coffee shops which makes it a great place for anyone. May the customer search for a snack or a full meal, this place can serve with no failure. 🙂

  21. papaleng Avatar

Simple lang ang interior ng place, That I like. The foods seems delicious naman. Cainta, yes ,next time I’ll be in Taytay, hahanapin namin this place.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

Yeah, medyo tricky lang paghanap. There’s a banner outside showing “Tutorial” or something related to a learning center, nasasapawan kasi ang logo signage ng Kopi Kopi so watch out. 🙂

  22. Yvonne Avatar

Cool place and the food seems yummy. The place is nice as well.

    1. Rochkirstin Santos Avatar

      Try the cream puffs. 🙂
