The secret is out: Celebrities Carlos Agassi, Mark Striegl, Ann Mateo and Gloc-9 are named the official brand ambassadors for trusted underwear brand Guitar Underwear.Β They just inked a contract with the company, committed to be walking and breathing representatives of a number of its lines,Β starting from itsΒ simple β€œde hilo” series, innerwear shirts, outerwear shirts and sandos toΒ modern basic briefs, panties and boxer shortsβ€”all made with the highest quality 100% cotton fabrics.

Introduction of New Clothing Ambassadors of Trusted Underwear Brand Guitar

Definitely a sense of joy and honor came to me last week when I received an invite to attend the Guitar Underwear Press ConferenceΒ dated today, August 23, 2014 at The Bar, Tomas Morato, Quezon City (formerly Wil’s Event Place).

If you’re not aware,Β Guitar Underwear is a brand that started since 1960 and now is a household name in the Philippines. I’ve blogged about it before and you may feel free to read more about the company and their offerings here. πŸ˜› Moving on, in this article, let me share about the interesting backgrounds of the newestΒ Guitar Underwear endorsers who all have dynamic and fun personalities.

CARLOS AGASSI – ACTOR/MODEL/TV HOST

Amir Carlos Damaso Vahidi Agassi, of Iranian and Filipino descent, is not entirely new to the Guitar Underwear family as he has been a model and ambassador of the brandΒ for the last consecutive eight years. Still, his pretty face fitted with a jovial smile has not waned. His fit body and bubbly character are also two of hisΒ most charming distinctions. Carlos has made his name in showbiz as an actor, host and rapper and was chosen by Guitar becauseΒ he strives to be the best in what he does, and thisΒ is what exactly the company also strives for.

MARK STRIEGL – MIXED MARTIAL ARTS FIGHTER

For a change, Guitar was looking for someone who has a sporty appeal to be one of its brandsΒ ambassadors, and this next guyΒ has perfectly fitted the description.Β Mark β€œMugen” Martinez Striegl is a half-Filipino, half-American mixed martial arts fighter living in Baguio City, Philippines. HeΒ was born and raised in Tokyo, and this was where he embraced the sport which now has become his life. He is still active in MMA competitions, so you gotta watch out for his fights!

ANN MATEO – MODEL / INTERNET ICON

Online singing sensation Ann Mateo has also caught the eye of Guitar because of her beautiful face and wonderful talent. She’s been featured recently on Vogue Italia and was the May 2014 cover of MUSE magazine. She’s currently one of the hosts of PTV4’s Upload TV every Tuesday 8-9pm. If you think she’s familiar, then you might have watched one of her videos on YouTube and Flippish.com featuring song covers and her talent with musical instruments.

Her video hits surge upΒ within short periods of time. This resulted to her becoming an in-demand artist performing on the FaceTime: The SM Cyberzone Mall Tour and various big local events like HIN2 at the World Trade Center. With her exceptional beauty and hundreds of thousands of followers and fans, she is also a sought-after product endorser appearing on several print-ads of high end products.

GLOC-9 – RAPPER/SONGWRITER

Among the four of them, Gloc-9 is the most serious “poker-faced” ambassador, or at least that’s what I thought. It was only one time when I caught him smiling and putting on a happy face, so I was glad I was there and took the shot. πŸ™‚ Probably he keeps a serious countenance to retain his outward appeal as a rapper slash hip-hop artist. I don’t hate him for that. This guy rocks!

Aristotle Pollisco, or better known by his stage name Gloc-9, writes songs for the country and sings for social justice. He was chosen for this endorsement because of his relation to music and patriotism. He is seen to represent Guitar as a genuine Filipino brand, simple yet with international appeal.

Haha not this time for me. πŸ˜€ Yup, the Guitar marketing team did a survey on which type of character the public would want to see to endorse the items. The sporty type was one result so they searched for the right candidate. Truly, Mark is a fresh face that has a lot of appeal especially for girls, I would like to think.

Their items are more affordable compared to other leading brands that have been out in the market for so long. This is just a living testament that there are still companies that do not sacrifice quality for the sake of its cost. πŸ™‚

Yeah, actually I never expected the brand ambassadors to be composed of these people because their backgrounds are too diverse and dissimilar. It’s like an indication that Guitar can cater to everyone be him/her a full-blooded Filipino, a mestiza or someone who grew up in another country but loves the Philippines and its products. πŸ™‚

Haha. I don’t know any brand offering products for free. Maybe come promo season, you’ll get like buy one take one or something like that (with discounts). Do try Guitar underwear and innerwear. The t-shirt is made with soft and lightweight cotton blend fabric for a laid-back vibe. πŸ˜€

They chose not so popular ones because Guitar neither wants the celebrity’s name to eat up the brand nor the other way around. They intend for their names and recognition to be rising just right next to each other. Nice strategy.

Aaaah. I was just watching Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman the other night and asked P about Carlos Agassi. It seemed like he’s been quiet for a while and endorsing Guitar is definitely a good comeback exposure for him.

Yup. I’ve heard that he’s not anymore with ABS-CBN but still he is maintaining his fit body and continuing his working relationship with Guitar. Imagine, for 8 long years, he has been an endorser for this Filipino brand! That just shows how he trusts it and even considers it as a family already. πŸ˜€

Yes, they do. πŸ™‚ If you want to stay at the comforts of your home, you may check them out here (Zalora). But if you really want it then I suggest going to SM for you to see which size would fit you best.

Honestly, up to now I buy GUITAR brand for my two teens inner shirts for their school uniform. I love GUITAR since then, and now that they have an underwear line, I am pretty sure it will CLICK here in the Philippines. Because I believe Philippines love GUITAR brands.

Yes! See all SM department stores nationwide for Guitar products. I’ve learned that they also extend availability of items to other SM outside the country, so you can also find them in SM China and SM Guam.

Seems like you had a lot of fun at the event, i always enjoy events too but i must admit i have never been contacted by underwear brands yet *LOL*, especially in Indonesia-underwear brands never seems to feel the need to use famous faces to endorse them or hold an event!

Haha this was just my first time to attend such event. Anyway, I enjoyed my time there meeting people and eating great food (yeah, I put emphasis on food also lah). πŸ˜› Oh here in the Philippines, we’ve got plenty of known endorsers to model underwears!

I’ve also recently just known about Guitar. If there’s one key takeaway, know that their products are skin-friendly, soothing in colors, wrinkle-free and easy on the pocket. πŸ™‚

They are touring malls now in other places in the Philippines to promote the brand and its line of products. The activities in line look quite tiring, but I’m sure they’ll eventually pay off. πŸ™‚

The Guitar brand has certainly reinvented itself through its latest endorsers. It has been fairly quiet for a time in this aspect of the business.

Agree. In Guitar’s case, it’s still not clear to me though how the celebrities endorsing for the brand could transfer their image somehow and communicate to the consumer what the brand actually stands for. The attributes of each representative must work for good promotion.

The brand name came from Hong Kong and during the 60’s, there was a trend of naming apparel brands with musical instruments. In fact, Violin is still existing and selling products in the Philippines.
