It’s been about a year and a half since I bought my first car, which I found via Sulit Cars (and now OLX Cars and Automotives). Just this week, my parents bought another one for their own useβ€”also via OLX. Little did we know that there’s another trustworthy site where getting your dream car is just a tap away. It’s called Carmudi.

It’s not that I want to replace or upgrade my vehicle but my interest just sparked upon hearing about the new Honda Brio. I searched online and found the Carmudi website. I didn’t expect to find quality listings that are like in a uniform format. The site layout is very organized and navigation is user-friendly, too. In this article, let me share some things I have learned about Carmudi.

8 Things About Carmudi You Need to Know

1. World’s Fastest Growing Online Car Classified

Carmudi hosts only vehicle classified ads and nothing else. Having that focus also allows them to put every vehicle through a highly approved quality checking system. To date, it has over 20,000 vehicle ads posted online, and over one million users are visiting the Carmudi website every month.

2. Special Service on Posting

Unlike other sites which list cars for sale, Carmudi sends a team of car experts who have been in the industry for five to ten years to go to the sellers personally. They take photos of the cars and take the details down before placing them as online listing. This service emphasizes on trust, as Carmudi as a company values trustworthy listings for the buyers who go to their website.

3. Managed Content

Because of the above point, there’s no way that junk data would reside on the Carmudi site. The business platform operates under a high level of transparency through professional photos, updated listings, detailed descriptions, reports and rankings for 100% of its vehicles in each market. Only approved vehicles are posted, so buyers can be sure that buying through the website is safe.

4. After-sales Service

Carmudi has an after-sales service team who contacts sellers to give them insights on how to better sell their cars faster. At the same time, this is when Carmudi gets feedback on how to improve their services.

5. Robust Filtering and Searching Capabilities

Customers can filter searches by any means that they wish, from brand to model and year to price. If this is not enough, further filters such as age, mileage and even color are also available to make sure that customers are able to find exactly what they want. More features will be added shortly.

6. Share Listings on Social Media

Carmudi allows users to share listings on various social platforms to gain opinions from friends and family if they are unsure.

7. Set Listings as Favorites

Carmudi allows for setting listings as favorites so that they get instant notifications on their favorite rides.

8. Global App for Android Devices

The Carmudi website has an equivalent mobile application which runs on Android. The Carmudi mobile app gives users an excellent experience of buying cars while on the move, thus allowing them the same sense of ease and comfort out and about as they would experience in front of their PCs at home. This mobile app has been released only last month (July 23, 2014), and more and more tech-savvy Filipinos are already using it. Check it out on Google Play Store! πŸ™‚

Wrap Up

Powered by Rocket Internet, Carmudi operates in 15 countries and is now ready to set to change the experience of shopping for car enthusiasts in the Philippines. The website, carrmudi.com.ph, was founded in 2013 and is envisioned to be a one-stop shop for vehicles. Everything you need to know about vehicles will be there–from maintenance videos to financing options to repair shops.

Also, with the new mobile app, Carmudi is changing the way consumers search and shop for cars, as mobile phones account for more than a third of the internet usage in the emerging world. The app is available to Android users in 20 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. To learn more, visit its website and Facebook page.

Yes, great idea, right? As a newcomer to the online automotive marketplace, there’s a fighting chance that Carmudi will eventually become the Philippines’ leading online site for used and brand new cars.

Brands under Rocket Internet have proven themselves to be reliable. One of my short term goals is to buy a car myself. I’ll check out the site so I can have an idea what car/s will fit my preferences and how much I need to save up πŸ™‚

It will be a win-win scenario for both local dealers and agents as they benefit from a credible platform to place their business. They’ll be able to source clients from all across the archipelago as opposed to being confined to their networking markets.

Yup. The idea is innovative. Note that Carmudi transactions take place between two interested parties, and the website does not get involved as the middleman between payments, or act as an escrow service.

Managed content is really important as a lot of false users lurks in online sites like this. This gives you a lot of security.

In return though, Carmudi charges the dealers a fee for placing their listings on the site. Also, they charge individual users a small fee for additional features on their accounts.

Right. It’s easier to view all the pictures and specifications on the screen rather than go from one place to another (different car owners located in various places) to initially screen which cars you’d like to buy.

Welcome. The key takeaway here, I guess, is that sellers get a trusted online presence through a personalised webpage and can manage their inventory in a fast, easy and stress-free way.

I think sometime in the future everything can be purchased online. This is an advantage for busy people who do not have the time to physically go to showrooms and stores.

Welcome. A good suggestion is for you to filter out the best car deals online and see which ones you plan to visit physically. In this way, you get to save more time and effort.

IΒ΄m glad that you started by what Carmudi is. πŸ˜‰ User friendly is the best thing we look for in sites as the experience can be a deal breaker. Having the company involved in the process to secure transparent data is key as well.

Yes. A prime differentiation is that Carmudi does not sell cars directly but act only as a facilitator to the sale. It is encouraged for the buyer to get in touch with the seller and inspect the vehicle thoroughly to avoid any miscommunication or misinterpretation regarding vehicle specs and pricing.

THe no. 2 is very helpful for buyers to be informed with what they are going to buy. Especially that it is inspected by experts, buying from the site would be very reliable.

Yeah, reliability and trust are two critical factors when buying online today. Especially when you’re getting more expensive things, there may be fraud problems and crazy sellers you meet online.

Wah, that does seem like a great, helpful site! I am not a fan of car (as long as it has a nice aircon and isn’t too bumpy, gets me to my destination) then i am happy already haha, i imagine my husband would be browsing for hours though!

I was like you before. I even close my eyes the entire ride and don’t care as long as I get to the place we want to go. But right now, having a car seems to be a necessity. Taking public transportation and commuting every day is really a hassle! πŸ˜›
